    Throughout this wild and romantic region, many castles, houses and gardens are open to the public including Ballindalloch Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in Scotland. From a sporting perspective there is plenty to do in the area, from fishing on the great Spey and Avon rivers, to walking, golfing, cycling at the nearby Glenlivet mountain bike trails or skiing at the Lecht. With other excellent sporting activities in and around the local area, guests will be spoilt for choice.     Take advantage of the proximity to the famous salmon fishing River Spey for a scenic walk, or cycle along the Speyside Way, and be sure to see the historic Ben Rinnes Distillery, which was founded in 1826 with its iconic tall red chimney. For walkers, a path starting up Ben Rinnes is nearby, and the lovely Lynn Waterfalls are also close to the old packhorse bridge in the village.

    Aberlour is a charming little town located just 1.2 miles from the property in the heart of Scotland’s Speyside region, famous for whisky, Walker’s shortbread and salmon fishing. The town and vicinity is home to a variety of attractions, including the Speyside Cooperage, numerous famous distillery tours, The Wee Ferm, the attractive Aberlour Victoria Bridge and nearby Craigellachie (Telford) Bridge over the River Spey. There is a salmon smokehouse, choice of miniature or steam railways, and Moravia Aviation, as well as magnificent Ballindalloch Castle and grounds to enjoy along with a number of local golf courses.

    Fishing on the Spey is sought after and there is also trout fishing close by. Within easy reach of the Cairngorms or Lecht for skiing and hill walking, and also beautiful beaches along the dolphin-famous Moray Firth. Moss of Bourach is a fabulous central location for rural fun and exploration. Venture to the city of Elgin, home to the Elgin Cathedral, which is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, as well as the Duffus Castle, which is a beautiful medieval castle.
