Alternatively, being at the geographical centre of Scotland with three roads leading out of the village, it is also the perfect touring base with many popular destinations such as the Cairngorm National Park, Perthshire’s lochs and glens, Loch Ness, the Trossachs, east and west coasts and beaches, Edinburgh and more within an easy day trip.

    Indoor destinations include Blair Castle, Glamis Castle, Scone Palace, the unique House of Bruar Highland shopping complex, Dundee’s spectacular V&A museum and Discovery Point as well as many National Trust properties. Outdoor activities include golf on a wide range of courses ranging from St Andrews to the highest course in Scotland at Glenshee’s tiny 9 holes, climbing, hill walking, mountain biking on the local trails, bungee jumping, river and loch fishing, boating and winter sports at Glenshee where the chairlifts run all year from the Cairnwell Pass, Scotland’s highest road. The beautiful Victorian resort of Pitlochry is 12 miles away over the magnificent wilderness of the Moulin Moor and the traditional market town of Blairgowrie is 13 miles down the fertile Strathardle Valley. Both towns offer excellent shops, restaurants and leisure facilities including the world-famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre.     Fonseca Cottage is a gorgeous, little snug of a cottage hidden in the heart of Aberfeldy. Nestled away on the owner’s very large garden and attached to the owner’s larger property. Renovated throughout and furnished to a high standard, this is the ideal romantic getaway for a couple and yet only a few steps from the centre of Aberfeldy. On the ground floor you will find an impressive well-equipped kitchen, a shower room, a wee snug room with Smart TV, wood burner to cuddle up by in the evening, and the perfect little dining area for enjoying a takeaway or a lovingly prepared meal for a loved one. Upstairs is a very large open bedroom with a sumptuous super kingsize bed on one side of the room, and a double sofa bed on the other, should you need additional or alternative sleeping, and is a great space to relax in and read.     Aberfeldy is a popular town with shops, coffee shops, pub and great restaurants set in some of the most stunning landscapes in Scotland. Just 6 miles away you will find Loch Tay, one of the largest lochs in Perthshire, framed by majestic mountains and hillside farms and cottages. As well as being the popular playground of sailors and water sports enthusiasts, the loch is home to 18 ancient dwellings called crannogs. Nearby to the north, Glen Lyon is often described as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland, and has a wonderfully mystical atmosphere.
