Skegness has something for all the family, whether it’s the traditional amusements, a day out at Pleasure Beach or simply enjoying the sandy beaches. Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve is nearby to the south of Skegness, with its visitor centre and great walks through the dunes and nature reserve. The area has a lot of activities for everyone, with the coastal resort of Mablethorpe close by and Sandilands golf course is less than 2 miles away. If you want to explore further along the coast, the busy traditional seaside resort of Skegness is 14 miles away, the market towns of Alford, 7 miles and Louth, 20 miles are all worth a day out. Set in the peaceful Wolds village of Benniworth and close to the owner’s home, this detached barn conversion is a lovely place in which to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. This is a great base from which to explore the Lincolnshire Wolds and east coast, with some excellent walks and cycle routes straight from the door. The Georgian market town of Louth and Horncastle, famous for its antiques shops, are both within easy reach. Take a trip to the coast, and visit the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe with their sandy beaches. Spend a day out in Lincoln, famous for its cathedral, castle and the Magna Carta Visitor Centre, and enjoy lunch in one of the many cafés and restaurants to be found in the Bailgate area. Wainfleet All Saints is a quaint market town with an array of shops, pubs, restaurant and a railway station. The traditional seaside resort of Skegness is just 5 miles away, and has a lovely sandy beach and family entertainment, including the Fantasy Island theme park. The National Trust properties of Gunby Hall and Tattershall Castle are within easy driving distance. Visit bird and seal sanctuaries along the coast, or take a trip to medieval Lincoln, with its famous castle and cathedral, just 40 miles away, across the scenic, rolling Lincolnshire Wolds countryside. There are plenty of lovely country walks straight from the doorstep and the quiet country lanes make cycling a real pleasure in the surrounding area.

For those wishing to explore a little further afield, Lincoln, Stamford, Newark, Oakham and Uppingham offer antique centres, National Trust houses, castles and museums, and numerous pubs and restaurants abound to cater for all tastes. Those interested in WWII can visit the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre, both only a short drive away. There are numerous golf courses nearby including the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa. Rutland Water also offers various water sports throughout the year, and the circular track around the reservoir provides walking and cycling for all ages with bikes available for hire on-site. Anderby Creek is a conservation area and offers a peaceful and relaxing setting with wonderful coastal walks and cycling. The traditional holiday resort of Skegness is 9 miles away along the coast for seaside fun, while Fantasy Island Theme Park is 5 miles away. For nature lovers, Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve is just 12 miles away. In November seal pups can be seen on the beach at Donna Nook, 20 miles up the coast.

The medieval cathedral city of Lincoln is within an hour’s drive across the lovely Wolds countryside, and the market towns of Alford and Louth are well worth a day out. For days out by car, on foot or by bicycle, the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is close by. This lovely barn conversion offers ground floor accommodation for up to 4 guests. Brook House Farm Cottage is situated on the owner’s farm which boasts its own horse stud and livery yard. The cottage building dates back to 1791 and was converted in 2008 to provide comfortable, modern accommodation.
There are lovely walks straight from the door into the Lincolnshire Wolds, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and plenty of cycle routes in abundance throughout the area. Motoring enthusiasts will enjoy Cadwell Park race circuit which is about a mile away. A half hour drive away, there are great days out to be had on the east coast, with miles of walks along award winning sandy beaches and the traditional resorts of Skegness, Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe.
The Lincolnshire Wolds market towns of Louth and Horncastle are both about 7 miles away and have a good selection of shops and amenities. Horncastle is well known for its range of antique and collectables shops. Inland is the city of Lincoln, about 30-minutes drive, with its famous cathedral and castle as well as the vibrant wharf area with restaurants and cafés to relax in and watch the world go by.
