This lovely mid terrace property is set just a short walk from the beautiful Ludlow Castle, offering guests spacious and comfortable living accommodation. The property is part of the Ludlow Castle Estate and can be booked with three other properties set within the walls of the castle, Prince Arthur and Catherine (UKC4032), Comus (UKC4034) and Sir Henry Sidney (UKC4033) and is situated just a short walk from the castle itself. The accommodation consists of on the ground floor, a living room with comfortable seating and Smart TV, dining room with another sofa and bluetooth speaker, kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and separate toilet. On the first floor are two bedrooms, a kingsize and a twin room, along with a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. The garden to the rear of the property has patio space and private garden furniture, and a large lawned area, all enclosed. If on road parking isn’t available, a space at Ludlow Castle is designated for the house.
Ludlow town offers guests a wide variety of things to do and sights to see; it is overshadowed by its own majestic castle, as it was once, like York, a seat of government in Tudor and Stuart England. It hosts the famous Food Festivals and events throughout the year, there is always a lively atmosphere in the town. It has a reputation for fine foods, speciality and antique shops, and even a racecourse. The castle hosts a number of events that run throughout the year, including being a beautiful spot for weddings. There are many walks in and around the town and guests can walk to explore the town or to visit one of the many pubs or restaurants. An excellent base to explore the unrivalled countryside for picnicking and walking, or nearby towns such as Bridgnorth and Bewdley with the Severn Valley Railway, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Tenbury Wells and Leominster. The cathedral city of Hereford with its chained library and Mappa Mundi are all within a short drive, as are historic houses such as Witley Court, Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Stokesay and Powis Castle on the Welsh borders. The property boasts an enviable position in the town close to many town amenities and within easy walking distance.

Arscott is a small hamlet in Shropshire. It is near to Plealey, Shorthill and Annscroft and within the civil parish of Pontesbury. Down the road is a 18 hole golf course, there are walking trails galore. Lyth Hill is a 14 mile circular route, that runs directly through Arscott and is a delight for all walking enthusiasts.
With interiors that blend traditional farmhouse character, Corbett Cottage is a real home-from-home, allowing guests to indulge in laid back country life and relax. The cottage benefits from an equipped kitchen, so that meals can be easily enjoyed during your stay. Next door is the living room, offering a Smart TV with Netflix and Disney, plus a DVD player and with dining to accommodate four comfortably. With plenty of lounging furniture making this the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and TV and the other with a double bed and TV, both bedrooms feature character beams of the barn and have plenty of storage space along with stunning views. The wet room offers a walk-in shower and toilet. Plus, there is a reading area to enjoy some quiet time on the landing. There are two patio areas to indulge in either a morning cup of coffee or a meal alfresco style.
With easy access to the delights of Shropshire, as well as being a short drive away from Shrewsbury, there is so much to do in the local area. Outside of the farm, the local Village of Pontesbury just a couple of miles away is full of lovely amenities, including a butcher, greengrocer, and a café. While those looking to experience the picturesque surrounding areas can get exploring with just a short drive. Jackdaw Cottage sits on the Glyndwr’s Way footpath on the edge of the beautiful town of Knighton, within easy walking distance from the Offa’s Dyke Visitors Centre as well as the restaurants, bars and cafes in the town centre. It is on the south facing slope of a lovely small green valley know as ‘the Cwm’. The stone property is 200 years old with exposed stone walls and oak lintels. It has a large, enclosed garden and patio overlooking the wooded valley with private access to the clear babbling brook. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard in 2022/2023 with some beautiful character features throughout, perfect for a family holiday or romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. it’s great for children and your four-legged friends to run about in this open space whilst you watch on, with a glass of something nice and listen to the local wildlife.
Throughout the year there are some lively fairs celebrated, and all year round, you will find an array of antique and gift shops, tea rooms, old inns, good food and friendly locals in Knighton. Local attractions include Offa’s Dyke Heritage Centre, Powys Observatory with Planetarium Show, golf, clay pigeon shooting and coarse fishing. The historic town of Ludlow, Hay-on-Wye with its antiquarian bookshops, and Presteigne all host cultural festivals during the summer months and are just a short drive away.

The local village of Baschurch offers a small supermarket, two pubs, and a post office, within walking distance. With Shrewsbury approximately 20 minutes’ drive away, there’s a variety of things to do making it a great day out. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or boat, the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle, the old market hall featuring local artists and lovely shops and eateries. There’s a produce and farmers’ market held regularly in the square, as well as a fantastic theatre. Visit Ironbridge Gorge, home of the world’s oldest working cast-iron bridge. Ramble through the Shropshire Hills, enjoying the countryside as you go. You can also drive your own steam train or dine in style on the Severn Valley Railway. Or venture over to the iconic foodie town of Ludlow.

This spacious cottage is set on a working farm adjacent to the owner’s own home in Banks Head. It is surrounded by countryside, with the local market town of Bishop’s Castle just two miles away, and is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Shropshire Hills, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is surprisingly spacious throughout and benefits from gorgeous gardens and views. The entrance hallway is welcoming and full of charm, with plenty of space to be able to kick off those boots after a day out in the hills!

The Old Barn is a charming cottage located close to a peaceful village just outside of Church Stretton and is the perfect getaway for those who love walking, tranquillity, and nature. The cottage comfortably sleeps two and features an inviting open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, creating the perfect open social space for you and your loved ones. The owners welcome dogs and provide an outdoor heated showering area ready for washing down your mucky pup after accompanying them on one of the many walking routes close by. Dog towels can be provided for a small fee. The garden space boasts picturesque field views, and outside the cottage a delightful patio area with a table and chairs.
For those who enjoy fishing, there are two fishing pools with carp and tench. Please note that there’s an additional cost for fishing, payable to the owners during your stay, but you are welcome to walk round and even picnic beside the pools. Please be aware the pools are deep and unfenced. There are excellent bird watching opportunities in the garden, the surrounding woodland area or when walking in the Shropshire hills with footpaths from the property. The local area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with mountain biking and an abundance of hiking trails waiting to be explored. Carding Mill Valley and the Longmynd is a must-see.
