The property is located within close reach of the popular towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Ironbridge which all have a range of independent shops, bars and restaurants. There are many excellent walks along the Shropshire Hills and over the Wenlock Edge. For those guests looking to be less active, there are many pleasant days out to be had in the area, including seeing Haughmond Abbey ruins, Shrewsbury Abbey and Attingham park. The property is part of the Ludlow Castle Estate and can be booked with three other properties set within the walls of the castle, Prince Arthur and Catherine (UKC4032), Comus (UKC4034) and Sir Henry Sidney (UKC4033) and is situated just a short walk from the castle itself. The accommodation consists of on the ground floor, a living room with comfortable seating and Smart TV, dining room with another sofa and bluetooth speaker, kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and separate toilet. On the first floor are two bedrooms, a kingsize and a twin room, along with a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle. The garden to the rear of the property has patio space and private garden furniture, and a large lawned area, all enclosed. If on road parking isn’t available, a space at Ludlow Castle is designated for the house.
Ludlow town offers guests a wide variety of things to do and sights to see; it is overshadowed by its own majestic castle, as it was once, like York, a seat of government in Tudor and Stuart England. It hosts the famous Food Festivals and events throughout the year, there is always a lively atmosphere in the town. It has a reputation for fine foods, speciality and antique shops, and even a racecourse. The castle hosts a number of events that run throughout the year, including being a beautiful spot for weddings. There are many walks in and around the town and guests can walk to explore the town or to visit one of the many pubs or restaurants. An excellent base to explore the unrivalled countryside for picnicking and walking, or nearby towns such as Bridgnorth and Bewdley with the Severn Valley Railway, Ironbridge, Much Wenlock, Church Stretton, Tenbury Wells and Leominster. The cathedral city of Hereford with its chained library and Mappa Mundi are all within a short drive, as are historic houses such as Witley Court, Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Stokesay and Powis Castle on the Welsh borders. The property boasts an enviable position in the town close to many town amenities and within easy walking distance.

The property is placed on a quiet walkway in Historic Ludlow. The house offers welcoming and comfortable accommodation over four floors and is bursting with charm and character from exposed beams to original oak flooring. This is a great base within walking distance of an array of restaurants, cafes, pubs, boutique shops, and the historic castle.
Walking in the front door there is space to hang coats and kick off your shoes. The ground floor has an open plan sitting / dining room flooded with natural light through the original sash windows looking out onto the large garden. The sitting area with its comfy sofa and chairs is the perfect spot to relax and read or watch TV in front of the open fire. A beautifully crafted wooden staircase takes you down to a well-equipped kitchen with double doors out to the garden. A breakfast bar with two stools perfectly positioned to enjoy watching the designated cook whip up a feast from the lovely local produce you’ve picked up that day while enjoying a pre-dinner drink. Wooden stairs lead from the dining area up to the first floor with a large comfortable double bedroom and a lovely bathroom where you can enjoy a candlelit bath in a freestanding bathtub. Heading up to the second floor is a double bedroom and ensuite shower room with gorgeous, high exposed beams and charming rooftop views across to Whitcliffe Common.

Shropshire has many quaint towns and villages to visit including Much Wenlock, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury, all are accessible within a 30-minute drive. Activity centres are dotted around the county offering anything from clay shooting, high ropes and canoeing to mountain biking and Segway and quad trekking. Nearby is also the historical National Trust Attingham Park, Wenlock Edge and Cardingmill Valley, as well as Stokesay and Ludlow castles. The Secret Hills Discovery Centre and Acton Scott Working Farm are great for children, and the glider centre on the Long Mynd and horse racing at Ludlow are also available nearby. Whitchurch town centre is within walking distance and includes an array of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants in the town. It’s home to a restaurant recognised by the Michelin Guide and awarded a place in the 2020 guide. The delightful market town has many splendid buildings from medieval, Tudor and Georgian times, all dominated by St. Alkmund’s Church. Internationally renowned for its clock production dating back to the 1650s, Whitchurch is known as ’the Home of Tower Clocks’, and a fine example can be seen on one of the barns.
Attractions close by, include Ellesmere with its beautiful lakes, 11 miles, a variety of National Trust mansions and gardens, and the historical city of Chester with its excellent shopping and famous races, 25 miles, with the Blue Planet Aquarium close by. Chester Zoo, as seen on TV’s ’Secret Life of a Zoo’, is only 30 minutes away and is one of Europe’s largest zoos, helping endangered animals from all over the world.
Other places of interest include Hawkstone Follies, Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, BeWILDerwood, Alderford Lake, RAF Cosford, Fenn’s and Whixall Mosses, and the incredible Ironbridge Gorge.

As you enter through the bespoke oak doorway, you’ll find yourself in a bright and spacious porch, great to take a seat and remove your boots and coats. A large sofa is set around a welcoming wood burner in the living room and provides the ideal spot to gather to plan your next day’s adventures or just relax with a film on the Smart TV including Netflix and Freeview. The adjacent kitchen is kitted out for creating feasts with all the appliances you will need and follows a very contemporary design. The French doors in the dining area lead out to the garden providing loads of natural light and stunning views of the Wenlock Edge and further towards the Welsh hills; a lovely sociable space to enjoy evenings over a delicious meal or maybe some board games and drinks.
Three gorgeous double bedrooms await you, each with luxurious bedding. There are two stunning bathrooms, one en-suite in the master, with a walk-in shower and the other a panel bath with shower over. A utility room is a useful additional extra, with ample space for storage and a place to pop muddy boots after a day’s hiking.
