It is very spacious and full of character and comprises accommodation on three separate mini levels, with a few steps in between each room. You’ll get a sense of the countryside with wildlife such as sheep, chickens, peahens, and rams on your doorstep so although very welcome, four-legged friends of the smaller variety, namely up to two dogs, must be kept on a lead when out and about.

    Situated just on the outside of the seaside town of Clevedon on the Severn Estuary of North Somerset, Dowlais Farm is a beautiful place for a peaceful retreat. Russet Barn is an ideal base for a relaxing break, family holiday or romantic getaway.
    Clevedon is a beautiful seaside town located in the cider loving county of North Somerset. Hosting spectacular countryside, incredible wildlife, the world’s second largest tidal range and the only Grade I Listed Victorian pier in the country, there are many things to see and do in the local area. The open plan living space is lovely and light with its sky light and beamed ceiling, comfortable sofas, and Smart TV. Wonderful for enjoying your morning coffee whilst watching Netflix or sitting in front of the log burner in the evening. The well-equipped kitchen has all the supplies you need as well as a coffee machine with a couple of complimentary pods.
    On the ground floor you will find the kingsize bedroom as well as the family bathroom; head up the stairs through the open plan living space to the twin bedroom with two single beds. The barns can sleep up to four guests with an additional sofa bed for a child in the living room. Escape to these barn conversions that have been lovingly restored by the current owners in 2022, where you can indulge in the comfort offered.
    This is a great area for walking or cycling along the North Somerset coast. The properties are directly on the brand new ‘Pier to Pier’ cycle track (open 2023) and this will give the opportunity to cycle between the piers in Clevedon and Weston-Super-Mare. The properties are about 700 yards from Clevedon Golf Centre where adults and children are always welcome to play, no booking necessary. The wider garden is shared with the other cottage, and is enclosed when the gate is shut. Clevedon has a lovely little harbour as well as a beautiful sea front with views across to Wales. There is a seawater lake used for swimming all year round (£1 honesty box charge). Other water-based activities are available (paddle boarding, sailing etc.) There is also an arcade, as well as a good number of cafés and pubs along the seafront. You can also visit Ladye Bay, a lovely, secluded pebble beach bay, which is within walking distance. The busier Weston-Super-Mare is only 10 minutes down the motorway, or a little bit longer along the cycle path. There is the Grand Pier with lots of arcades as well as a sandy beach. You can also be in the city of Bristol within 30 minutes.

    Located on a working farm, Feltham’s Cottage (ref UK42324) and The Organic Cabin (UK42325) are both surrounded by nature, and you can interact with the farm as much or as little as you like. Ideal for children, as you can roam across the owners 22 acres of land, play in the haystacks in the barn, climb the tree house and also help feed the animals. You can relax outside in the shared garden that backs onto the stable yard, or take a splash in the owner’s natural pool which is fed by soft rainwater, kept clean by hornwort plants that oxygenate the water, this is available all year round. The owners also have a nature trail too, and as this is a Dark Sky area, it is amazing for star gazing as there is very little light pollution.
    Feltham’s Cottage has an open-plan living/dining room where you can play retro board games like Scrabble, Monopoly and cards, or watch one of the many classic DVDs available. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, whilst upstairs are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The owners favour environmentally sustainable furniture and food, so everything you receive from them will be locally sourced, and where possible organic. A welcome hamper is provided, and includes eggs, some local cider from Oliver Dowding, and milk, tea, and coffee.
    With beautiful rural views of the Blackmore Vale, Horsington is a quiet Somerset village. Close by there is Pevlings Riding School, Sherborne with its 1000-year-old abbey, the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth in Bruton, and mythical Glastonbury is just 30 minutes’ away. There are great walking routes, fishing and cider picking all within 10 minutes’ of Feltham’s Farm.

The ancient medieval town of Glastonbury can be reached in just 5 minutes by car or head across the fields by foot and be there in 20 minutes while skirting the base of the Tor at the same time. Glastonbury is full of eclectic shops as well as bars, restaurants and museums to explore, where you can enjoy the 36 acres of Glastonbury Abbey and soak up the legends and myths of King Arthur, after learning all about the ruins from the excellent museum. Hop in the car and visit the designer outlet at Clarks Village in Street for some retail bargains, head to Cheddar to visit the famous gorge and sample some Yes Cheddar Cheese or see if you can find the Witch at Wookey Hole Caves!
    The smallest city in the UK, Wells is definitely worth a visit, especially on market days, Wednesday and Saturday, when the streets come alive with local stalls by the cathedral.
