The larger property, Bodrydd (ref UKC3283) boasts a truly luxurious interior, with a sumptuous living room with a baby grand piano, and a gas wood burner set into a beautiful stone inglenook fireplace. From the living room, doors lead through to a fabulous conservatory which has views across to the on-site coarse fishing lakes, open to the public. From here, French doors lead out to the spacious decked area and covered, heated plunge pool. The cottage also has a games room, where guests can hang out on a rainy day.
The location on the stunning Llyn Peninsula affords many wonderful walking opportunities, and the pretty fishing village of Aberdaron is close by with a small selection of local shops, pubs and cafés, as well as the fascinating National Trust’s visitor centre, Porth y Swnt. There are many unspoilt beaches to be found in the region, where seals and dolphins can sometimes be spotted. Lively Pwllheli, with its weekly market and larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, is 17 miles away, whilst the Snowdonia National Park, with its dramatic mountain scenery and exhilarating outdoor pursuits, is within easy reach. This well-presented and very comfortable detached property, offers exceptionally spacious accommodation, perfect for large family gatherings, whatever the season. It boasts a lovely enclosed courtyard with its own private hot tub for six guests - a delightful place to relax and enjoy the lovely views across the adjoining Abersoch golf course towards the sea. Within a short walk is the charming and fashionable seaside resort of Abersoch, which is situated between two glorious bays, and is one of the most popular sailing venues in north Wales with important sailing regattas held there throughout the summer months. It also has a fine selection of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Water sports enthusiasts are also well catered for, particularly windsurfing, water skiing and dinghy sailing, not to mention renowned surfing at Hell’s Mouth. There are three main beaches to choose from, the long sandy Warren beach, small and sheltered Porth Bach and sandy Porth Ceriad with its high cliffs. Most of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and there are many remote bays, sandy beaches and cliffs, as well as wildlife havens like Bardsey Island to explore. Beach ½ mile. Situated just 1¼ miles from the town of Barmouth with its range of pubs, cafés, individual shops and entertainment for all the family, this lovely detached bungalow enjoys an enviable location.
Enter through the entrance hall, leading to the large living area with its cosy wood burner and patio doors leading to the garden. The open plan kitchen/dining room is well-equipped with all the appliances you could need for a home-from-home stay, and also features a large dining table, great for socialising whilst the chef in the family prepares a hearty meal.
The utility room room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and rear entrance for those with muddy boots, and there is an outside tap where you can wash your wellies off. The property boasts a games room, with a TV, PlayStation 4, football table, chess and other board games. This room leads to a spacious bedroom sleeping three on a bunk bed (with a double on the bottom and a single on the top). On this floor there is also a kingsize bedroom. Upstairs on the first floor are three further bedrooms, two double (one with an en-suite) and a twin bedroom.
Outside, the large front garden with patio area offers a great place for some al fresco dining, along with a fabulous view. To the rear and side of the property are woodland grounds, some of which is steep and has steep drops – please supervise all children when playing in the woodland area. There are floodlights situated on each corner of the property so if you arrive in the dark you will be able to see all of the grounds.
There are lots of walks to be had in the local area. You can walk along Barmouth viaduct and down the delightful Mawddach Trail, which runs alongside the Mawddach Estuary, to the pretty town of Dolgellau along the course of an old railway line. From Barmouth you can explore the coastline by train too. Head north to Harlech with its magnificent castle, brooding over the village, whilst to the south is Llwyngwril, home to an annual Yarnbombing project. Further south is Tywyn, home of the Talyllyn Railway, where you can enjoy a ride on a narrow gauge steam train into the hills to Nant Gwernol. Above Barmouth is Dinas Oleu, the first part of land to be given to the National Trust and the views are well worth the steep climb. If you’re into adrenaline activities, be sure to visit Blaenau Ffestiniog and Zip World, home to the largest zip wire zone in the world, and Bounce Below, the only place you are ever likely to bounce on trampoline nets in an underground slate cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral. Large doors open the whole of the property to the stunning patio and private sun deck, bringing the outside inside, with magnificent views over the Dyfi Estuary. The property is built into the rock and so the deck feels elevated to give the feeling of being high, overlooking the dramatic coastline below. On the deck, you will find something for every mood sunbeds, dining furniture, a BBQ, all will provide you with a luxurious holiday experience and unforgettable memories. Rockcliffe is in the village of Aberdovey and from the balcony you can see the championship links golf course opposite, which is a must play if you’re a golfer. Aberdovey is full of things to explore on foot. There are plenty of independent shops, cafés, bars and lovely restaurants to enjoy. The beach is very popular with many water sports on offer. You can book a paddle board lesson, go surfing, sailing or even kite surfing. If the tides permit, you can even stroll along the sand all the way to Tywyn. In Tywyn visit Talyllyn Railway where you can experience a traditional journey through the Welsh countryside or venture further afield to Dolgoch Waterfall. Other attractions include Corris Mine Explorers where you can partake in excursions into an underground mine, Fairbourne Railway or how about the challenging hike up Cader Idris if you’re feeling active? Sea fishing is also available nearby.
