Nestled beautifully down a quiet country lane in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this holiday cottage has been carefully restored to a high standard, retaining much of its original character. The former barn, dating back to the early 19th century, has been beautifully converted into a delightful retreat for both families and couples. The open plan living area has been decorated with a rustic charm using neutral tones. It features exposed beams and a traditional wood-burning stove for cosy nights in. Outside, relax in the private garden and enjoy alfresco dining, or stroll in the nearby scenic Stackpole Estate (NT) and discover its fantastic walks and beautiful sites including the glistening Bosherston Lily Ponds, famous for its otters and water lilies, and the stunning beaches at Broadhaven and Barafundle, with their golden sands and crystal blue waters.
The historic walled town of Pembroke is just 3 miles away and features a magnificent Norman castle, which is famous as the birthplace of Henry VII. The bustling coastal resort of Tenby is within easy reach and is renowned for its picturesque harbour, narrow cobbled streets and pastel painted Georgian houses. It has a variety of boutique gift shops, traditional pubs and highly acclaimed restaurants.
Take a boat trip to the historic island of Caldey, with its Celtic monastery and Cistercian monks, who have made it a holy island for hundreds of years. Away from the coast, explore the rolling hills of Preseli and discover its ancient sites dotted along its rugged terrain, or visit the market town of Narbeth, with its antique shops, art galleries and numerous cafés and tasteful restaurants. Uncover the delights of Oak Cottage nestled within the quaint hamlet of Walwyns Castle, in the rolling Pembrokeshire countryside near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Footpath, and close to St Brides Bay, complete with a plethora of picture-postcard beaches including St Brides, Little Haven and Broad Haven. In an evening after a busy day sightseeing, relax in your private hot tub with a glass of bubbly, relax those muscles and take in the stars. On-site there is plenty to keep you busy with a large shared games room boasting a full size pool table, table football, table tennis and soft play area for the young ones. For those more active, enjoy a game of tennis or keep fit at the gym. There is also an outdoor climbing frame and slide to keep the children entertained.

Oak Cottage is set all on one level within the mature grounds of the owner’s home and is the end of a row of three beautiful holiday cottages. The contemporary, galley-style kitchen offers the perfect space for testing your culinary skills, or you may prefer to dine al fresco in the south facing courtyard, perfect for evening sunsets. Both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished to a very good standard.

The coastal hamlet of Little Haven is 10 minutes away where you can enjoy fresh line caught fish or an array of shellfish, and the local inn/restaurant serving local ales. Travelling further south west, visit the boating village of Dale and enjoy some fantastic walks, boating, kayaking and fishing, or for some birdlife, take a trip to Skomer Island with boats departing from St Martins Haven. Tenby, Folly Farm Zoo, Heatherton World of Adventures and Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, are all within 40 minutes’ drive and perfect for all the family.

The Gatehouse is nestled within the grounds of main house Y Gwesty Bach. This contemporary cottage with a traditional look and feel is full of charm and was a recent addition, in the last 50 years, to the main stone buildings of Y Gwesty Bach, which date back to the 1700s.
Set within the quaint and picturesque hamlet of Castlemorris, The Gatehouse is perfectly situated for those wishing to explore the delights of Pembrokeshire. You can embark on beautiful walks from the front door, and the Pembrokeshire Coast footpath is less than two miles away. Enjoy a trip to the city of St David’s, Britain’s smallest city and the final resting place of the Patron Saint of Wales. Further north along the coast you will uncover the legendary blue lagoon at Abereiddy and fishing village of Porthgain with its delightful fresh fish restaurant, and popular local Inn. Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, is a fun day out for all the family. For those with younger families, be sure to visit Folly Farm Zoo.
Beach-wise, the world-famous Whitesands and Newgale are a 15-minute drive away, with other local favourites including the secluded Traeth Llyfn and Caerfai Bay. Our closest beaches, Abermawr and Aberbach, are within walking distance or a very short drive. Further afield the stunning sands of Barafundle, Broad Haven and Newport Sands, to name but a few, are within striking distance by car. Mathry, the closest village, is a two-minute drive, where a village pub and restaurant specialise in home-cooked food, and a fantastic café offer freshly baked cakes, with nearby Letterston or Fishguard providing local shops and amenities.
