Beguildy sits amongst countryside on the Welsh/English border. The village hosts a pub, shop and a Post Office. There is access to Beacon Hill, plus a 5-mile route for horse riders on the Glyndwr's Way National Trail, as well as the Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way. Walks and cycle routes at Offas Dyke provide great views. The neighbouring Knucklas boasts a 13th century castle mound and a viaduct built in 1865. Set on the railway line between Shropshire and Swansea, venture into Wales by train. A short drive away is Knighton, a location for walking, horse riding and cycling with Offa's Dyke passing through it as well as a farmers' market. Visit Powis Castle with its gardens, the Water-Break-Its-Neck waterfall, the Elan Valley dams and the towns of Bishops Castle, Leominster and Ludlow, with its castle, buildings and wonderful restaurants. Also visit Llandindrod Wells and Builth Wells, which boasts the Royal Welsh Showground which hosts a variety of events throughout the year.
