Just a few miles away is Bamburgh, with its Grade I listed castle, overlooking the sea, a lighthouse that has stood for over 100 years and its idyllic beach, backed onto by the castle. Head to Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve for some excellent walking trails and the opportunity to see lots of fascinating wildlife, while the market town of Alnwick is a short drive away, with its stunning castle, recognised by many as the set of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter film franchise, as well as incredible surrounding gardens you can spend the afternoon exploring.
