Gorran Haven on Cornwall's south coast, formerly a crab fishing community, is ideally situated for exploring the area's numerous beaches and bays. At low tide, Gorran Haven's little sand beach connects with the larger Great Perhaver beach, making it a popular destination for families. The National Trust owns a large portion of the shoreline in this area, and the South West Coast Path goes through Gorran Haven, making it easily accessible. The 370-foot-high Dodman Point, which rises above Gorran and is considered one of Cornwall's most stunning headlands and the site of numerous shipwrecks, is also within walking distance. Views of Veryan Bay and Vault Beach can be seen from its gorse-covered peaks. To get to Mevagissey, you can take the coastal path to the town's harbour. Located on the coast at Porthluney Cove, Caerhays Castle is a casual 60-acre garden located near Gorran Haven in a lovely setting of woods, stream, and pastureland. Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum and cathedral town of Truro are just a few of the nearby attractions that offer good shopping and dining options for visitors.
