The Kings Arms, Hertfordshire

On the edge of Berkhamsted’s high street market, and just a 10-minute walk from the train station, is the dog-friendly, 18th-century coaching inn, The Kings Arms. Many of the building’s original features have been preserved, including their dog-friendly bar’s fabulous ‘hunting-lodge’ fireplace, and exposed beams in the principal bedrooms. With charming en-suite bedrooms inspired by local author Graham Greene,, light-filled restaurant and comfortable lounge and bar the hotel has been transformed into a destination venue. The restaurant offers a seasonal menu inspired by Mediterranean flavours in the elegant dining space, which boasts an open kitchen, glass ceiling and full-length windows. The hotel has local dog walks from the door with plenty of interesting walking trails close by including dog-friendly Berkhamsted Castle.
