Going south from the observatory, the promenade gives a traffic-free route to the village centre with its Co-op store, village green, shops, cafes, pubs, eateries, takeaways and amusement arcade, close by are Hardy's Animal Farm, an indoor trampoline park and Lakeside Leisure complex offering family fun from fishing lakes to boat and quad bike hire, Fantasy Island amusement park at Ingoldmells is within easy reach. If you go North from the Observatory there are miles of quiet, sandy, dog-friendly beaches, this stretch of coast makes up the Lincolnshire Coastal Country Park, which incorporates many wildlife havens, the England Coast Path, picnic spots and glorious walks, you may be lucky enough to see a Marsh harrier gliding over the reed beds and you can investigate the unusual 'Structures on the Edge', art-led installations at Anderby Creek and Chapel Six Marshes.
