The Old Coach House is a traditionally furnished apartment set within Wood Close which is a large Victorian, stone-built country house split into several apartments. It has has been refurbished to very good standard and is superbly located on the slopes of Rydal Fell, it has its own allocated parking, and from its large, secluded grounds, there are dramatic views of Grasmere lake and Loughrigg Fell. The living/dining room looks out over the gardens from the panoramic window, and is furnished with a large dining table, sofa and easy chairs. There is a large smart TV, comprehensive sound system and a large selection of local books and information guides. The modern kitchen enjoys a view across the garden, which in winter and early spring also extends through the trees for glimpses of the lake and fells beyond. It is very well equipped and includes a multi-function oven/grill, wine cooler, fridge/freezer, microwave and breakfast bar. The bedroom also overlooks the garden below and has a kingsize bed with 100% cotton bed linen, an antique wardrobe, a wash basin and smart TV.

It is an excellent base for walking, with access to the fells, Alcock Tarn and the famous ‘Coffin Route’ directly from the garden. Ambleside, 3 miles, and Keswick, 12 miles, offer a full range of attractions and there are many historic houses and gardens locally. Grasmere, famous for gingerbread, Wordsworth and Dove Cottage, has a good selection of restaurants, a wide variety of shops (including a small supermarket, PO, newsagents, chemist and bakers) and a parish church all within 1 mile of the apartment.
