The Cider Barn is a luxurious and spacious three-bedroom holiday home with a hot tub, two bathrooms and a large private garden set in the heart of Devon. Originally a 17th-century farmstead, the accommodation has been refurbished to a high standard for up to six guests to enjoy, and the property feels stylish and beautiful with its unique interiors. The barn is attached to the back of the owner’s farmhouse but guests will have private access with their own front door and driveway space, enough for up to four cars.
As you enter, you will be welcomed into the hallway area which has bench seating, a washer/dryer, and is perfect for hanging coats up and kicking off those wellies after a bracing walk in the countryside. The historic cathedral city of Exeter is 12 miles away with easy parking and a direct rail link from Crediton. The scenic national parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor are within a 40-minute drive away. Dartmoor is a vast moorland defined by forests, rivers, wetlands, and tors (rock formations). The South Devon ‘Jurassic’ coast is a 50-minute drive away while the rugged North Devon coast and surfing beaches are a 60-minute drive away. Sea Haven is a large spacious bungalow situated at Hunmanby Gap just over 3 miles from the popular seaside resort of Filey. The owner has taken great care in providing a fantastic holiday home for families to enjoy. A 2-minute walk and you are on a stunning vast beach that stretches for over 3 miles to Filey and beyond. It’s a beach that never looks busy as it’s so wide and has lots of space for everybody. Great for the children or walking the dogs, or watching the horse riders galloping through the waves in the early morning. There is an excellent café that serves the beach guests and provides meals and drinks as well as ice creams. Filey is a very traditional seaside resort, not quite as busy as its neighbour Scarborough however it has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Filey is also the end of the Cleveland Way walk so you can enjoy a walk along the cliff tops to Scarborough following part of this very famous 109 mile trail. The seaside resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington are just a short drive away. Both resorts are very popular holiday destinations and worth a visit during your stay.
The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is just a short drive where you can see the puffins and other migrating birds from the viewing points on the cliff tops. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and Sewerby Hall, Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and the wonderful Castle Howard are just a short drive. Just a short walk downhill into the first part of the town is where you can find several takeaways, shops and pubs as well as a laundrette if needed. A bit further into town and onto Paignton seafront and beach with its arcades, pier, mini golf course and various pubs/restaurants often hosting live music. Paignton harbour also has some good quality new restaurants, especially for seafood. If guests are wanting to explore the local area as well as Paignton, the nearby towns of Torquay with its marina, the famous fishing town of Brixham and Dartmouth and Kingswear are a relatively short drive away, as is the nearby city of Exeter. The town is only a 15 minute walk and only a 20 minute walk from the coast.
