Corton lies just north of Lowestoft, the most easterly point of the UK. Beachwood is set amongst a secluded woodland setting and has frontline sea views. It is also considered to be the one with the most private, quiet and secluded settings. The photographs of the interiors speak for themselves. The kitchen is well equipped according to our many extremely satisfied guests to date. Tea coffee and milk is provided so guests don’t arrive late and find they can’t make a hot drink. The huge decking stretches to the cliff edge with views onto the award-winning beach. Stunning sunrises each morning which, should you so wish, can be watched while you relax in the hot tub! At night it lights up via a button. String lights have now been installed which are on a timer, which creates a wonderful evening ambience. The beach is never busy which makes for relaxing walks in both summer and winter and is accessed via a lovely short walk through the woods. It is also a dog friendly beach year-round. There are no shops or plastic swings and slides at Ocean Glade. It is very peaceful, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. There is a pub a 10-minute walk into the centre of the village which serves food, plus a small shop which also sells newspapers and a Chinese takeaway that only takes cash. There is a shopping complex a few minutes’ drive away with plenty of free parking.
Beachwood is ideally located to explore both Suffolk and Norfolk. Visit the Norfolk Broads National Park, with its southern gateway, Oulton Broad, just a short drive away, with good restaurants and a wine bar. Lowestoft is an old-fashioned traditional town offering shopping, beaches, two piers with family entertainment and restaurants. The popular town of Southwold is about a 35-minute drive away. There is so much to do and see in the area and you would be advised to google your preferences for details etc. Far too much to write here!

The golden sandy beach at Barmston is just a mile away and the local village put is a great place to meet the locals. Bridlington, Filey and Hornsea are along the coast. All three offer a plethora of tea rooms, restaurants and convenience stores. With promenades, arcades and a working harbour there is plenty to do. The stately homes of Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall are waiting to be explored. Enjoy a day watching the wildlife spectacle at RSPB Bempton Cliffs or enjoy the tranquility of the Spurn Point Nature Reserve. The Orangery is the perfect holiday retreat in the port town of Bideford with its pastel coloured houses and tree lined quay. With plenty of activities and attractions for both families and adults just a short drive away. Just a few to mention include the Big Sheep Family attraction, the Milky Way Adventure park, Tapely Park Gardens and Rosemoor Gardens. You are just a few minutes walk to the town centre with many shops, bars, restaurants and the Pannier Market. Woodpecker’s Rest is a spacious, detached bungalow which is able to comfortably accommodate up to six guests. It is situated within the charming rural village of Whitwell, towards the southern side of the Isle of Wight, approximately 3 miles north west of the seaside town of Ventnor. The area is a firm favourite with cyclists, walkers and ramblers due to its close proximity to the southern most tip of the island, with an ever-changing coastal landscape boasting breathtaking panoramic views and a wealth of wildlife.
The open plan living and dining space means you can cook up those home-cooked recipes and then gather the family for an evening in front of the 50" Smart TV. There is plenty of seating with a table and six chairs, a four-seater sofa and a two-seater sofa. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, the second bedroom has a standard double bed and the third bedroom is perfect for children, with a set of bunk beds.
Within the village you will find the oldest pub on the island, dating back from the 15th century. If you enjoy a bit of fishing then you should most certainly take advantage of the local fishing lakes; three lakes covering 1½ acres where the waters are well stocked with carp, roach and tench.
The popular seaside resort of Ventnor is just a short drive away offering a number of lovely seaside tea shops, pubs and restaurants dotted along the Esplanade. There are also some quirky and bespoke shops, a park and a children’s paddling pool. The town, which for the most part is built on the steep hill leading to the beach, retains its original seaside charm and makes a great day out for all the family.
Further afield local points of interest include St Catherine’s Lighthouse, where you can explore the area where Marconi made some of his early experiments in radio, St Catherines Oratory, a medieval lighthouse on top of St Catherine’s Down, and Castle Cove (also known as Castlehaven or Reeth Bay), where there is a little open-air beach café (seasonal opening).
The pretty neighbouring villages of Niton and Godshill are only a short drive away. At Niton there is a range of amenities, including good places to eat and drink. In Godshill, the winding main street is lined with a number of pretty thatched cottages, fantastic village pubs and tea rooms serving the best local ales and delicious cream scones and jam.
Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages. Pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and Gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, the famous Needles, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. There is plenty to discover and keep you entertained.

Here you’re really in the heart of all North Wales has to offer, with lakes, coastal paths, Snowdonia and popular tourist towns all within easy reach. Dinas Dinlle beach is in walking distance from the lodge, with wonderful views across the bay to the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. Caernarfon Castle, an imposing UNESCO World Heritage site, is under 8 miles and where Prince Charles took his investiture. Venture just a little further and you have Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway. There’s something for all ages in this diverse region and it would certainly be a break to remember. Beach ½ mile.
