These properties provide excellent walking direct from the doorstep, and miles of footpaths and trails to explore, including local woods. It is situated in an ideal location to explore the excellent sandy beach of the North Norfolk Coast and the Norfolk Broads, which are both within a 30-minute drive. Cromer and Sheringham, also have glorious sandy beaches and are host to many attractions, perfect for everyone. Cromer boasts a pier, with a carnival week which is held in August and, weather permitting, a spectacular New Year’s Day celebration, complete with fireworks.
Places of historical interest and stately homes can be found within easy driving distance, and Blickling Hall boast open air concerts during the summer season. Only 15 minutes away is Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, again with a beautiful sandy beach and castle with a tearoom. There is also Pembrey Country Park or Heatherton and Oakwood theme parks to visit or for younger guests (and parents!) visit Folly Farm with lambs, all things fluffy and even tigers and giraffes. A short drive away is Skanda Vale a multi faith ashram which welcomes 90,000 pilgrims a year for those who need a peaceful retreat to stay whilst visiting the temples. Oakridge is a stunning example of 1800s architecture with a luxurious, contemporary interior. This semi-detached property offers a large sociable kitchen/dining room for family meals and playing games in front of the Aga before retiring to the living room. Hinderwell is a village with excellent local amenities including a good butchers, convenience store, a local pub and a tea room all just a short walk from your doorstep. This quaint village is just a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Runswick Bay, which boasts a sandy cove with opportunities for fossil hunting and rock pooling, yet right in the North York Moors National Park. Head north or south on the Cleveland Way and visit some of the amazing coastal gems such as Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay, Sandsend or Saltburn.
The bustling town of Whitby is a short drive or bus ride away where you will find so much to see and do. There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sandy beach, traditional amusement arcades and regular boat trips out to sea in search of minke whales and dolphins. There are many bistros and restaurants ranging from award-winning fish and chips to fine dining as well as tea rooms, coffee shops and pubs with live music. If you’re feeling energetic why not attempt the 199 steps up to the abbey that towers over Whitby.
You can drive inland to enjoy the natural beauty and some amazing heritage sites such as abbeys and monasteries within the National Park or catch a steam train as it snakes through the lush countryside to destinations such as Goathland and Pickering. There is a huge diversity of things to do in the area from surfing to golfing, and there is an abundance of walking and cycling tracks. The more traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just along the coast with its two huge bays, and the walled city of York is well worth a visit. Beach ¾ mile. Travel south to the traditional market town of Cardigan, here the beautifully restored castle is not to be missed with 900 years of history to uncover. Enjoy a short walk into the village to discover the traditional Welsh pub or a freshly brewed coffee in the village café. There’s so much to explore in Cardigan Bay but if you want a day out to Pembrokeshire you can reach the well-known family attractions of Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo within an hour’s drive. The property is one hour away from Liverpool city centre, by direct train link. The property is situated next to a beautiful, large church and is constructed in the same style.
