There is plenty to see and do in and around the area. Less than a mile away is a good pub for families, which serves both food and drink. The closest beach for lazy summer walks, building sandcastles, sunbathing or indulging in bracing winter wanderings, is 10 minutes away by road, and the nearest golf course, North Shore, is the same distance away. Keen fishermen will enjoy the coarse fishing lakes just 300 yards away.
The town of Skegness has all the facilities you would expect of an established seaside town and modern commercial centre - shops, bars, pubs, restaurants, cafés, cinema, theatre, fun fair, seaside amusements, park, aquarium, sports and fishing facilities, as well as a hospital and excellent road and rail links. For the gardener, a visit to the 32 acres of garden at the Old Vicarage Gardens at East Ruston is a must. Golfers will enjoy Mundesley and the Royal Cromer golf course. National Trust properties nearby include Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park and Horsey Wind Pump. Visit Horsey Beach between December and February, and you may spot hundreds of grey seals and pups on the beach. Situated between Cayton and Cayton Bay, the cottages are an ideal base to visit the east coast, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The beach at Cayton Bay is less than a mile away (2 miles by road) and just a little further up the coast is the popular seaside town of Scarborough. The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away. The walks along the clifftops are spectacular and form part of the Cleveland Way walk. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs attracts visitors from worldwide and is just a short drive from the cottages. Here you can see puffins, kittiwakes and lots of other migrating seabirds. Not to be missed during your stay (as it’s always voted as one of the top ten cities to visit) is the wonderful city of York which is less than an hour away by car, or the train is direct from Scarborough. The Camel Estuary is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and can be explored by walkers, cyclists and horse riders using the Camel Trail which follows the estuary. Also within easy reach are the coastal villages of Port Isaac, where the TV series ‘Doc Martin’ was filmed, Tintagel, the legendary home of King Arthur, and the lovely inlet of Boscastle. There are several beautiful bays a few miles away including Porthcothan, Watergate Bay and Harlyn Sands. Newquay is just down the coast and offers shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay Zoo and the famous surfing beach at Fistral.

The area around Yonder Green is surrounded by golf courses, from the links course at Trevone and the Point at Polzeath, to St Enedoc, all great courses to experience. Beach 4 miles. With breathtaking views over Cardigan Bay, the properties are located just 100 yards from the cliff top. Gwbert-on-Sea is a small, quiet hamlet on the shore of the mouth of the Teifi Estuary, just a couple of miles outside Cardigan. The settlement takes its name from the wandering St Gwbert, said to have landed here and taken shelter in a cave. The shoreline is marked by rugged cliffs and small shingle bays, with large stretches of sandbank exposed at low tide, and the area gives superb views over a diverse and scenic landscape. The ancient oak woodland of the Teifi Valley, the tidal marshes of the estuary, and the boundary of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park can all be appreciated from here.

The 18-hole golf course at Cardigan Golf Club also offers fine views of the estuary and sea, and from the headland you can look across to Cardigan Island. The mud and sand flats of the estuary attract a great variety of birds, and in the autumn waders such as the redshank, oystercatcher and curlew can be seen feeding here, along with several species of migrating duck. The headland of Craig y Gwbert is the site of an Iron Age Fort, with pieces of pottery found near Gwbert, now on display in Cardigan museum. All the outside areas are covered by CCTV. Beach 7 miles.
