There is plenty to see and do in and around the area. Less than a mile away is a good pub for families, which serves both food and drink. The closest beach for lazy summer walks, building sandcastles, sunbathing or indulging in bracing winter wanderings, is 10 minutes away by road, and the nearest golf course, North Shore, is the same distance away. Keen fishermen will enjoy the coarse fishing lakes just 300 yards away.
The town of Skegness has all the facilities you would expect of an established seaside town and modern commercial centre - shops, bars, pubs, restaurants, cafés, cinema, theatre, fun fair, seaside amusements, park, aquarium, sports and fishing facilities, as well as a hospital and excellent road and rail links. Boat trips are available all year to visit the basking seals and Blakeney Point nature reserve. Nearby, the stately homes of Holkham and Blickling are amongst the finest in East Anglia. The Royal Sandringham Estate and museum is open to the public when the Royals are not in residence.
The coastal resorts of Cromer and Sheringham offer an array of attractions for all ages, a cliff-top golf course, plenty of shops and restaurants. Still operational, the fishing harbour operates a small fleet of boats to catch succulent fresh lobsters and crabs, which are brought back to be sold locally. Promenade gardens, pier with seasonal live entertainment and the Royal Life Boat Centre can all be found at Cromer. Sheringham is headquarters for the North Norfolk Steam Railway, where during the summer trains travel back and forth along the coast to neighbouring villages. Shop 800 yards.

Oswestry boasts the legendary King Oswald’s Well - said to have curative powers, Wroxeter the fourth largest city in Roman Britain is only 5 miles outside of Shrewsbury on the way to the historic Ironbridge Gorge and Blists Hill Victorian Town. The RAF Museum at Cosford, Attingham Park (National Trust), Hawkstone Historic Park and Follies, a 10-mile ride on the Llangollen railway through the stunning Dee Valley, or 18 holes of golf at Oswestry Golf Course - all are within easy reach of Field House. This Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty has many sandy beaches and stunning coastline very close by, including Blue Flag beaches Slapton Sands, Beesands, East Portlemouth, Bantham, Bigbury and Thurlestone. The town of Dartmouth is nestled on the River Dart and offers boat trips, exclusive shops, galleries, many pubs and some famous restaurants. Totnes, 5 miles up the river, is a town steeped in history, enjoying a colourful and exuberant atmosphere, while Salcombe is another pretty riverside town, boasting a busy estuary with many yachts sailing by and a myriad of interesting shops and pubs in its winding streets. There are several National Trust properties in the area to explore and some delightful open gardens. With the South Hams coastal path stretching over 60 miles there is great walking and time can be spent exploring the rugged moorland.

This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. Tawny Owl Barn is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors, retaining many original features. The ground floor lays claim to a cosy living room complete with a warming wood burner, leather sofas, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table so you can have a home cooked meal with all the family, as well as a single bedroom with an oak sliding barn door. Head upstairs where you will find two en-suite bedrooms with varnished, natural wooden floors, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round.
Outside, there is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio table and chairs, a barbeque and views over open countryside. There is a gate giving access to the fully enclosed hot tub (which is available all year for an additional charge, payable locally). This also includes the supply of additional towels and dressing gowns. We have a one acre paddock to exercise your dog in. Up to two well behaved dogs.
Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from The popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.
