With panoramic views along the beautiful Cornish coastline and down into St Austell Bay, this detached holiday home is set in an acre of landscaped gardens, approximately 300 yards up from the secluded sandy cove of Porthpean, where visitors can paddle, swim or hire a kayak and explore the coastline from the water. A golf course that overlooks the bay is a short walk along the lane and an off-road cycle and walking trail through ancient woodland is nearby. Fowey, with its beautiful estuary, Royal Yacht Club, narrow lanes and historic buildings is a must. Meander along its narrow streets and browse many local shops, galleries and crafts shops whilst planning lunch in cafés and restaurants that overlook the estuary and out to sea. Activities include deep sea fishing, river kayaking, sailing and walking. For a more leisurely affair, a local hotel just minutes from the house has an impressive spa and indoor infinity pool for a day of pampering and relaxation. The dramatic north coast is within easy reach, where visitors can surf, watch the waves or visit many of the pretty harbour villages, such as Padstow, Port Isaac or St Ives, all essential ports of call for visitors to Cornwall. This pet friendly, semi-detached holiday bungalow has been equipped to provide a comfortable base from which to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall. From here you can walk or cycle the Camel Trail along the estuary to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin, and it is ideally situated to visit the many National Trust attractions that Cornwall has to offer, including The Eden Project, Bodmin Moor with unspoilt moorland at its best, and the many beautiful gardens and National Trust properties. A cosy property tucked along a quiet country lane overlooking the historical village of Tintagel, with sea views from the living room, bedroom and kitchen windows. Located about a mile from a long sandy beach and the centre of Arthurian legends at Tintagel, this single-storey stable conversion offers cosy holiday accommodation. The front of the property has a small, fenced garden with a bench and view towards the ocean, whilst at the rear of the property is a cosy patio garden area. Within easy reach are many little coves, the ruins of Tintagel Castle and Celtic monastery remains – with two little beaches far below connected by Merlin’s Cave. Lovely walks in nearby wooded St Nectan’s Glen, by a tumbling stream and waterfall, and in Rocky Valley, where a rock bears intricate Bronze Age carvings. Camelford 5 miles. Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening. Please note, the pool is not available during August due to overcrowding, and entertainment is not available November-March (except during school holidays). Regular passenger ferry services operate from the main pier to St Mawes and Flushing, or take one of the many creek and waterway sight seeing trips. Gyllingvase Beach, offering superb facilities for bathing and surfing, Castle Beach and Swanpool Leisure Beach and Nature Reserve are all just a short distance away, and there are several boating lakes in the area, perfect for a summer’s day. For those who enjoy boating, there is a wide range of opportunities in the area, from the romantic Helford River, made famous by Daphne de Maurier’s novel Frenchman’s Creek, to the Argal Reservoir and Water Park with fishing, bird watching and watersports park. Hallagenna Cottages are located in the village of St Breward, and comprise four traditional Cornish cottages set in five acres of land, in one of the most stunning parts of the country. Enjoy uninterrupted views of Bodmin Moor, amble along to the local 11th-century pub for your dinner, cycle and explore the famous 18-mile long Camel Trail (only a 5-minute drive away) which can be completed on foot or on bicycle, or take horse rides onto the moor virtually from your own front door (Hallagenna riding stables located opposite). The stunning Cornish coast and historic fishing villages such as Port Isaac and Padstow to name but a few are also within easy reach, and there’s so much more.
Hallagenna was once a farm and the home of Beatos, the black stallion from the Lloyds Bank adverts. Although now no longer a working farm, Hallagenna maintains its rural character. The farm has its own miniature pigs and chickens and horses graze in the paddock and share their fields with wild rabbits, which can be easily spotted amongst the grass. A wealth of wildlife can be found grazing the adjacent moor, including ponies, cattle and sheep. Hallagenna Cottages have their own access to Bodmin Moor so it’s ideal for dog walking, hiking, exploring or simply taking in the view.
This beautiful former farm worker’s cottage is set in open moorland (a designated Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty). The two-storey cottage retains many of its original features, such as traditional Cornish stone walls and exposed beams. This cottage accommodation includes TV/Freeview and DVD player. Wi-Fi access is also included. There is a wood burner to keep you warm on the winter nights, and a basket of logs is provided. The living room and dining area are located upstairs in the property. This allows you to make the most of the views across the courtyard and Bodmin Moor beyond.
There is the fully fitted kitchen including a fridge with an ice box, microwave and washer/dryer, a bathroom with bath/shower, and two bedrooms: one double and a second bedroom with two single beds. These are located downstairs in the property. The main bedroom is accessed by a small flight of stairs. A private barbecue is also provided so you can enjoy the warm Cornish sun in your enclosed courtyard garden located at the front of the property.

West Yardley (UK31200) accommodates up to 11 guests. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom an en-suite wet room with shower seat and grab rails, ideal for those with mobility issues. On the first floor are a family bathroom and a further three bedrooms, one of which boasts a private balcony, tea making facilities and an en-suite shower room. The open plan living space features a good-sized kitchen area and a living area with a sofa bed.
The property features a private terrace accessed from the living area, offering marvellous sea views. Outside, there is a direct beach frontage and the properties are privately situated in established gardens, commanding an outstanding 180-degree panorama over the waters. Outside in the beautiful gardens the house has its own garden furniture with a barbecue, perfect for summer evenings. There is storage available for bikes or beach equipment, and an outside shower and dog washing station. Within the private grounds are a number of seating areas including a beach shack which features a rather impressive wood burner. Named Beach View, by night you can sit and enjoy the sunset and the silver moonlight shimmering on the sea.
The lovely village of Downderry features a restaurant, pub, coffee shop and a small shop all within a short walk. Ramblers will enjoy the scenic coastal footpath leading to the charming fishing ports and villages with quays. Looe is within easy reach and scenic Polperro is an enchanting village with quaint, traffic-free lanes and a fishing harbour surrounded with traditional inns and fisherman’s cottages. Take a stroll through the beautiful valley and woodland heading towards Hessenford or explore the coast and its fascinating rock pools between Downderry and Seaton, where there are pubs and a beach café. As one of the most easily accessed parts of Cornwall, you can usually expect to be on the beach just an hour after the Exeter M5 junction 31. Beach 50 yards. These three well-presented cottages, Cloisters Cottage (ref UKC1870), Stable Cottage (ref UKC1871) and Stable End (ref UKC1872) have been converted from parts of a historic building on the outskirts of the ancient Stannary town of Lostwithiel, providing charming holiday accommodation with a little local history attached. Peregrine Hall has 9 acres of woodland, gardens, terraces and walks for you to enjoy or simply relax with a cream tea on the terrace. The house stands on a hill overlooking the town of Lostwithiel, and was a gun site during the English Civil War. It was first known as St Faith’s House of Mercy, a refuge for ‘wayward girls’, who were rescued from Bodmin jail and put to work running a laundry which served Lanhydrock Estate and the local community.
The town of Lostwithiel is well known for being the centre of Cornwall’s antiques industry and is well served with great restaurants, local award winning pubs, craft shops and cafés on the River Fowey. This beautiful river is spanned by an ancient bridge with its own little beach and picnic area, and is within walking distance from Peregrine Hall. The riverside walks along its banks are a must, and if you are lucky you may see kingfishers, otters and other wildlife. Restormel Castle and The Duchy of Cornwall Nurseries are also close by and a must for all that visit the area. Lostwithiel provides the perfect base for touring the Duchy of Cornwall from its north coast with Padstow, Port Isaac and Polzeath, to the south coast with Fowey, Polperro and Mevagissey. All are lovely fishing villages and coastal towns, with many attractions for everyone, from sea fishing and kayaking to surfing and sailing.
The Lanhydrock Estate is a gothic stately home, gardens and grounds which is closely linked with Lostwithiel and is a stunning example of a National Trust house. There are also woodland walks, off road cycle trails and bike hire along with a museum and tea rooms. For the energetic, try golf at Lanhydrock, cycling along the nearby Camel Trail, or a walk to Respryn Bridge can all be enjoyed. Horse riding, cinemas and the renowned Eden Project are easily reached, as indeed, are many National Trust gardens. Beach 7 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
