Gloriously situated at the end of Bala Lake, this delightful holiday property, next door to the owners’ seasonal coffee shop, has a lovely decked area from which to admire the stunning views across Wales’ largest natural lake. Fishing is available on Bala Lake (or Llyn Tegid to give it its Welsh name) and a licence may be purchased locally. Stroll to the end of the lake and catch a narrow gauge steam train on the Bala Lake Railway, along the lake shore to the pretty village of Llanuwchllyn. The market town of Bala is close by and offers several pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance, as well as a nearby leisure centre and shopping facilities. Located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, you can take the mountain road over to Lake Vyrnwy, an experience in itself, or the easy route to the beach at Barmouth, just over 25 miles away.

The village has a pub within easy walking distance which is attached to an Indian restaurant. This also does take aways for an relaxing night in. Nearby is Gatcombe Park, the home of the Princess Royal. There are some lovely walks around the village and surrounding beautiful countryside. Tetbury is just 3 miles away, a thriving market town with elegant buildings and 17th-century market hall. As well as offering a unique retail experience with many craft shops, it is also a major centre for antiques. Malmesbury, 8 miles, is the oldest borough in England with its Norman Abbey and the beautiful Abbey House Gardens. The Roman city of Cirencester is 12 miles away, and there are many Roman remains in the surrounding area, including several Roman villas near the villages of Chedworth and Withington. The famous Cheltenham racecourse is 20 miles away and the magnificent city of Bath, famous for its hot springs, is 26 miles.

The apartment has been decorated and furnished beautifully throughout and being all on one level makes it ideal for guests who are less mobile or those with small children. The properties benefit from being only ¾ mile from a beautiful sandy beach which is perfect for a breath of fresh air and also good for exercising your four-legged friends. Dogs are welcome to come and stay and there is plenty of good walks locally. The centre of St Bees has an excellent selection of local pubs and restaurants and if you want to leave the car behind you can take the train to many local towns. St Bees station, a number of pubs, restaurants and the local convenience store are all within 200 yards of the property. The famous St Bees priory, dating back to the 11th century is well worth a visit and can be reached within a 5-minute walk. If you like outdoor adventure, including walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and you are only a 10-mile drive from the Lake District National Park, your nearest lake is Ennerdale which is regarded as one of the most unspoilt and natural parts of the Lake District. It is teaming with wildlife including buzzards, red squirrels and osprey to name a few. If you want to climb the highest mountain in England you can reach Wasdale Head in just 18 miles, which gives you the shortest route to the summit of Scafell Pike.
