Come and enjoy the delights of Tynval, nestled on the edge of the rural hamlet of Bronwydd Arms near the market town of Carmarthen. This beautiful, single-storey barn conversion was once the milking parlour and part of the once busy Cwmgwili Mill Farm, which is steeped in history and dates back to the 1600’s. The mill, which is on the side of the farmhouse, stopped working in the 1950’s. The mill first produced flour and then was converted into a woollen mill which produced blankets for the war. The farm was built by the owners of Cwmgwili mansion, which is a short walk up the hill, and served as the source of food for the estate owners many years ago. The owners have meticulously restored Tynval and retained all the quirks and charm throughout, with vaulted ceilings, beams, exposed stone walls and solid teak flooring offering a superb barn for your family to enjoy.
Here at TynVal we are trying to be energy self-sufficient to reduce our carbon foot-print, you will notice we have solar panels on the roof which we can produce up to 7kwh and we can store 10kwh with our battery storage,every thing within the cottage is powered by electric so during the summer months we don’t need to take any energy from the grid, so we would ask guests kindly if they would use the energy we produce wisely.
It is just a 5-minute drive from the market town of Carmarthen and 15 minutes from the beautiful seaside village of Llansteffan, where the famous salmon river, the Towy, joins Carmarthen Bay. Here you can also visit the ruined castle, dating back to the early 12th-century, along with the Iron Age earthworks still visible to this day and which once controlled an important river crossing of the Towy. Enjoy a walk to discover this castle and its epic views overlooking the sand flats and the Towy river mouth.
Tynval has been finished to a very good standard and has been thoughtfully presented throughout, complete with a spacious, light and airy living/dining room with original beams and focal wood burner for a cosy evening in with a glass of wine. This room leads onto the sun room which overlooks the enclosed lawned garden, with views across the Carmarthenshire countryside. The well-equipped country kitchen is perfect for cooking that celebratory meal or to enjoy a coffee. Both bedrooms boast beams, exposed stone walls and vaulted ceilings, and have been lovingly furnished to provide the perfect nights sleep. On an evening, enjoy dining al fresco with a barbecue and enjoy the covered entertaining area with a G&T whilst the children play on the lawn.
Carmarthen has everything on offer with many restaurants specializing in home cooked organic produce, craft shops, galleries, a cinema and traditional markets. Nearby is the Gwili Steam railway and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, which is home to the largest span glass house in Europe. Aberglasney, a few minutes away, is is said to be one of the finest gardens in Wales and surrounds a restored Grade II listed mansion which is perfect for cream teas whilst enjoying the scenery.
Travelling west is the historic township of Laugharne, the hometown of the famous poet Dylan Thomas, here you can view his writing shed, his former home and enjoy some fine locally brewed ales in his favourite pub.

This charming Farmhouse is situated amongst the beautiful rolling Carmarthenshire countryside. Typicca Farmhouse is the main house on the owners working sheep farm and situated mid-way between the picturesque hamlet of Felingwm and the hills and mountain bike trials of Brecfa. Walkers and cyclists will adore exploring the beautiful surroundings made famous for their outdoor activities, with mountain biking, pony trekking, bird watching and miles of walking trails available for all abilities.
Typicca Farmhouse offers a spacious space to come and discover this wonderful area. The Farmhouse oozes charm and character and provides families and friends with a superb base any time of the year. The open plan kitchen and dining room is bright and airy and provides a great space to cook that celebratory meal.
The large living room boasts a log burner and exposed beams and stonework, perfect for snuggling up with a good movie or glass of wine. Take a short drive to discover the fascinating villages and towns in this fabulous region, including the National Botanical Garden of Wales. The market town of Llandeilo, a 20-minute drive away, is well worth a visit, where you can stroll around this historic town. Enjoy meandering around antique and gift shops and enjoy a treat or two in one of the local coffee shops. Alternatively, you can explore old castles or take a steam train ride. The famous walled town of Tenby which offers the perfect beach day out, along with Oakwood, Wales’ largest theme park, and Folly Farm Zoo or even the Gower Peninsula, are all within an hour’s drive.

Ty Nant

Dove Cottage is the perfect spot to relax, unwind and take in everything this beautiful area has to offer. This lovely cottage was once a barn on this seven-acre smallholding, with horses, sheep, goats, chickens and bee hives, and guests are welcome to bring two well-behaved dogs. Upon entering the property you see the superb finish the owners have achieved with a spacious open plan kitchen/dining area, perfect for family meals with a modern contemporary galley style kitchen. The beamed living room offers the perfect space to relax on an evening or open the French doors and dine alfresco in the enclosed southfacing courtyard garden, it’s a real suntrap! Situated in the Gwendraeth Valley, around a mile from the quaint village of Pontyates and 4 miles from the historic market town of Kidwelly on the Carmarthen Bay, Dove Cottage offers a fantastic central location to discover this stunning part of West Wales. Ffos Las racecourse, Glyn Abbey Golf Course, National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Pembrey Country Park are all within a 30-minute drive. Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula offer a great day out for family and friends.
The Llanelli Wetland Centre is a must see, here you can hand feed the rarest Goose in the world, go bug hunting, see flamingos and enjoy bird watching from hides. The ancient town of Kidwelly is only a 5 minute drive away and is really worth a visit with plenty of shops and restaurants, and one of the finest preserved Norman Castles in Wales. Pembrey Country Park is around 10 minutes away and is fantastic for busy families and walker’s alike, complete with 500 acres of woodland, dry ski slope, toboggan run and the picture postcard Cefn Sidan Sands covering 8 miles of golden beach waiting to be discovered. The Pig Sty is a lovely, semi-detached barn conversion, accessed via a rough track, and sat in the heart of the Crychan Forest, nestled between the Brecon Beacons and Cambrian mountains. This holiday home is a wonderful retreat for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The property is situated on the owner’s small holding, where you will see chickens, sheep, pigs and geese roaming around the fields in front of the house. There is much to see and do in the area including cycling, walking, hiking, birdwatching and fishing.

The property comprises of an open plan living space with a lovely wood burner to keep you warm on those chilly nights. There is also a double sofa bed on the ground floor, a shower room and on the first floor is a galleried bedroom with a comfortable double bed. Bath robes are also provided! To the exterior of the property are shared grounds and a shared garden with a seating area and a summerhouse which has a barbecue, Rayburn and a griddle (the summerhouse is available in summer only).

Not too near but not too far, Bunny Meadows is surrounded by a wealth of historic attractions and you will be centrally located for Pembrokeshire and the whole of south Wales. The Gower has lots to offer and many tourist attractions are only a short drive away. Locally the towns of Carmarthen and St Clears are only a 6 minute drive. The village shop, pub and restaurant are only 1½ miles….no hustle and bustle of busy tourist towns here!
Take a trip to Llanstephan and enjoy afternoon tea in the mansion house or walk on the sandy beach and then visit the castle. Only 15 minutes away is Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, again with a beautiful sandy beach and castle with a tearoom. There is also Pembrey Country Park or Heatherton and Oakwood theme parks to visit or for younger guests (and parents!) visit Folly Farm with lambs, all things fluffy and even tigers and giraffes. A short drive away is Skanda Vale a multi faith ashram which welcomes 90,000 pilgrims a year for those who need a peaceful retreat to stay whilst visiting the temples. For a relaxing and romantic holiday, look no further than Bramble Cottage. Situated across the yard from the owner’s home, on a small working farm, this converted detached cow barn offers a contemporary interior oozing with country charm. The kind owners offer a laundry service, and the option for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals can be provided at an additional cost (arranged direct with the owner). Limestone flooring and the natural pink hues of the exposed stonework give a light and airy feel throughout the property. The sleek kitchen and bathroom, both with underfloor heating, and the tastefully decorated bedrooms complete the theme. French doors lead out on to the patio and an unfenced stream passes through the enclosed garden to the rear of the property. Nestled up on the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park, this area is a nature lover’s paradise, with footpaths and bridleways giving direct access to the Black Mountain from the farm.
Up above the village of Llanddeusant sits the famous lake known as Llyn y Fan. This beautiful lake is a popular destination for walkers as it boasts spectacular views and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere. Myths about The Lady of the Lake and the Physicians of Myddfai come from ancient times, and some people believe that the Arthurian legend of the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur stem from here.
If you’re a romantic star gazer then the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons, is perfect for you. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry-eyed.
Less than half an hour’s drive will bring you to the colourful, picturesque town of Llandeilo, scattered with an array of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. It’s a delightful place to spend a few hours. Throughout the year you can watch the graceful red kite swoop down for food provided by the Red Kite Feeding Station also in Llanddeusant.
Whether you want to explore the mountains or potter around the farm with its 20 acres of ancient woodland and river walks, or wander through the pastures where sheep and cattle graze, Bramble Cottage is the perfect place to relax. The Cabin offers ramped access and once inside offers a great space to unwind, the spacious kitchen, diner and living room is teaming with natural light, high vaulted ceilings, beams and enjoys a focal flame effect log burner in the living room and French doors lead out to a gorgeous covered terrace, great for alfresco dining or watching the evening sunset. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite wet room facilities with walk-in shower and heated towel rail, high quality linens and finished to a high standard throughout. To the side of the cabin, you can enjoy a secluded and private lawned garden, that’s dog proof, where you can BBQ or enjoy a spot sunbathing!
From the doorstep enjoy walks through the grounds and onto the woodland which connects to the public footpaths, ideal for keen walkers and your furry friends. The cabin is close to the hamlet of Bancyffordd and around 4 miles from the market town of Llandysul and has been positioned in a truly stunning spot overlooking green meadows and woodlands.
The town of Llandysul is a few minutes’ drive away by car with cafés, restaurants, pubs and supermarket, the historic market town of Newcastle Emlyn is 20 minutes’ drive away. There are over 60 miles of glorious coastline in Cardigan Bay with lots of beaches and coves, and many are dog friendly all year round if you are bringing your pet on holiday with you. The pretty coastal resort of New Quay and the colourful Georgian harbour town Aberaeron can be easily reached within a 30 minutes’ drive. If outdoor activities are your thing, there are plenty of options for walkers and cyclists of all abilities as well as horse riding, canoeing and more. Families can enjoy a day out at the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumsaint. Beach 17 miles. Pub and restaurant 2¾ miles.

On arrival, you will be met with the most fantastic views from outside these properties, as far reaching as Devon. These stylish, fully renovated adjacent properties located on a former dairy farm (refs W40630 and W42961) would make an ideal base for touring and exploring the beautiful countryside and coasts of this corner of Wales. St David’s Cathedral is within reach while keen walkers should head for the Preseli Hills, 5 miles to the north west, and the acclaimed Pembrokeshire National Park coastal footpath. With abundant medieval castles and prehistoric sites, including the impressive reconstructed iron age fort of Castell Henllys, quiet market towns and theme parks to amuse the children, this would be hard to beat as a holiday venue.
