A 20-minute drive and you can explore some of the many beaches and coves, the pretty coastal resort of New Quay and the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron can be easily reached.
The Victorian seaside and university town of Aberystwyth is also within easy reach and here you will find a traditional pier, promenade, and the old electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the bay. If outdoor activities are your thing, there are plenty of options for walkers and cyclists of all abilities as well as horse riding, canoeing and more. Families can enjoy a day out at the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines at Pumpsaint, the Silver Mountain Experience (silver-lead mines) at Ponterwyd or the red kite feeding centre at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian. Enjoy the famous honey ice cream or fish and chips whilst taking in the delightful sight of boats bobbing about in the harbour. A trip to Cardigan is a must, try the bustling local farmers market and visit the restored Cardigan Castle with over 900 years of history waiting to be explored. The Welsh Wildlife Centre is located in the nearby small village of Cilgerran and is one of the best wetland reserves in Wales. Perhaps take a short drive to Cenarth Falls, where if your lucky enough, you may see the salmon leaping up through the falls travelling upstream. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is nearby and is worth a visit, as is the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron. Visit the coastal towns of Aberystwyth or Cardigan, both an easy drive away, or venture inland to the market towns of Lampeter, Tregaron or Newcastle Emlyn.

The picturesque hamlet of Henllan, with the Teifi Valley Railway, scenic valley views and ancient woodlands walk next to river rapids is close by. The town of Newcastle Emlyn is a 6-minute drive away, offers a plethora of shops, restaurants, antique shops, with the famous salmon River Teifi meandering through the town and around the ruined castle. there is a pretty park alongside the river to walk. Within a 15-30 mins drive are several beautiful beaches and horseshoe coves such as Penbryn, with woodlands, waterfall and stream and Tresaith with waterfall on the beach, the coastal village of Aberporth, quaint Llangranog and picturesque resort of New Quay, famous for its dolphin spotting from its harbour. You can take wildlife spotting boat trips from here. From any of these beaches you can start walking along the magnificant Heritage coastline and find tucked away beaches.
Other attractions are a visit to the picturesque Georgian coastal village of Aberaeron, with attractive harbour and a wide choice of pubs, restaurants and individual shops, the National Wool Museum, Cenarth Falls and National Coracle Centre, with boardwalk-way alongside the rapids. Also Llandysul river rapids with outdoor activities centre. The market town of Cardigan is nearby, with several art galleries, individual shops, and a beautiful castle and an opportunity for boat trips down the estuary. Close to Cardigan is the beautiful village of St Dogmaels with abbey ruins and just around the corner the stunning beach of Poppit Sands. Cardigan Bay enjoys a rich marine environment throughout the year, with bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise, Atlantic grey seals, and a variety of birdlife to be spotted.

Set near the small hamlet of Ponthirwaun and close to the historic market town of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn, where you can find a plethora of restaurants, shops and a theatre. A visit to Cenarth Falls really is not to be missed and around a 5-minute drive, if timed well, you can see the salmon leaping up the falls which really is a fantastic sight. Nearby is the Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran, which runs along the banks of the River Teifi, made famous for coracle fishing.

Locally there is a host of beaches to discover with Aberporth, Poppit Sands and Mwnt beach all within a 30-minute drive and perfect for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. Take a walk along some of the 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park footpath, just waiting to be enjoyed, and runs from Cardigan through to Amroth in the south. Try your hand at coasteering, surfing or paddle boarding, or take a boat trip to observe the dolphins and other wildlife. There are quaint towns to explore, history to uncover, and lots of beauty spots to be impressed by. Y Lonydd is a fabulous large, detached bungalow, perfect for larger families to enjoy a holiday near to the beach, located in Cilau Aeron just 4 miles from the beautiful town of Aberaeron, the charming harbour town of Aberaeron offers independent shops, craft centres, coffee bars and award-winning restaurants which are all a short walk away. Aberaeron is becoming something of a foodie pleasure. The town is right on the Wales Coast Path and The Coastal Way. Ceredigion’s coast is also well-known for wildlife, including the famous Cardigan Bay bottlenose dolphin pods, boat trips to explore the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast and the town features a Seafood Festival in July.

Delfryn is a delightful 19th century, link-detached cottage situated in the small ancient village of Llanarth. The cottage is located just off the A487 coastal road which runs between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, within 3 miles of the pretty seaside resort of New Quay and 3 miles from the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron; both of which have a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Why not take a boat trip to get up close and personal or buy an ice cream or fish and chips and sit on the harbour wall and wait for them to appear! Lovers of the outdoors may also like to try sailing, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking or canoeing from the harbour beach. The resorts of Llangrannog, Aberaeron and Aberporth are also within easy reach of Llanarth and each are great starting points for walking the Cardigan Bay Coastal Path – there’s 60 miles of it to enjoy and the beaches and coastline are some of the best in Wales. A 35-minute drive will bring you to the resort of Aberystwyth, where you will find the pier and promenade as well as the electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill. Have a coffee up there and enjoy the spectacular views across the bay. You can also take the steam train from Aberyswtyth to Devil’s Bridge and waterfalls, or why not drive a bit further on to the Silver Mountain Experience at Llywernog, a fantastic day out to explore the history of the 18th century silver mine.
