Enjoy a short stroll to the play barn and café which is perfect for younger children to let off some steam within the village or walk to the coast where you can build sandcastles, sunbath, go fishing or fly a kite.

Aberporth is 5 minutes’ drive away and offers pubs, cafés and two stunning beaches; it’s the perfect destination to explore the three counties of west Wales being centrally located to Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and Ceredigion.
Travel south to the traditional market town of Cardigan, where the beautifully restored castle is not to be missed with 900 years of history to uncover. Enjoy a short walk into the village to discover the traditional Welsh pub or a freshly brewed coffee in the village café. There’s so much to explore in Cardigan Bay but if you want a day out to Pembrokeshire you can reach the well-known family attractions of Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo within an hour’s drive. Bryncrwn Cottage is a spacious conversion of a traditional Welsh farmhouse set in the hillside. Every room of this superior dwelling boasts uninterrupted views of Aberystwyth (5 miles away) and the Cambrian Hills. The detached holiday cottage has been tastefully renovated and decorated to a very high standard. The en-suite master bedroom has access onto the patio area. The cottage is ideally situated in a secluded position on a working sheep farm, only 3 miles from the coast and a short drive into the rural town of Aberystwyth. Penceunant is a stunning conversion that is ready for summer 2022, situated on the owners working sheep farm, the property consists of ground floor kingsize bedroom with en-suite shower and Smart TV. To the first floor there is an open plan kitchen and dining room with Smart TV and fully equipped kitchen, kingsize bedroom with Smart TV and en-suite walk-in shower. If you wish to order your supermarket groceries to be delivered on the day you arrive the owners will take delivery and put all your shopping away for you in advance of your arrival, so that your wine is chilling in the fridge. Ideally situated for exploring this diverse region of west Wales and is perfect for a weekend break or a longer stay with award winning beaches (many pet-friendly year-round), sandy coves, sea cliffs, caves and wonderful wildlife, amazing sunsets and starry skies. Less than 10 miles away, you can discover the attractive Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful houses and an array of independent shops and lots of cafés, restaurants and pubs. The National Trust Georgian country estate of Llanerchaeron, just 2½ miles southeast of Aberaeron, can be reached from the town along a wide level pedestrian pathway, ideal for cyclists, pushchairs or wheelchairs. Just a bit further down the coast, you will find the seaside town of New Quay, where the houses cling to the rocks, and the long harbour wall is the perfect place to enjoy fish and chips whilst you try to spot the regular visitors of bottlenose dolphins or just watch the boats bobbing. Boat trips are available in season and offer a spectacular view of the coastline, and the bay is home to an amazing variety of wildlife, both above and under the waves. A 20-minute drive towards the Cambrian Mountains will bring you the historic market town of Tregaron, centre for ’Trotian’ horse trotting and carriage racing. The annual summer event attracts competitors from all over the UK and Ireland. It is also the home of the Welsh Gold Centre selling Celtic inspired designs. Just a short drive is the seaside resort of New Quay, complete with a pretty harbour, coffee shops, restaurants and a picture postcard beach that is only a 14-minute walk away, ideal for swimming, relaxing or enjoying a stroll on the golden sands. A must for every visitor is a boat trip from the harbour round the bay for a closer encounter with the seals and dolphins that this area is famous for.
If you can tear yourself away from New Quay, explore the other things that the 60 miles of the Ceredigion coastline has to offer. There’s the coastal path itself, and no shortage of beaches either. Try the secluded National Trust cove of Cwmtydu, where seal pups can often be seen during the autumn months. A visit to New Quay Honey Farm is a must, with its tea rooms and shop selling honey and beeswax. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is nearby and is worth a visit, as is the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron. Visit the coastal towns of Aberystwyth or Cardigan, both an easy drive away, and venture inland to the market town of Lampeter. Once you have done your exploring, head back to Robin’s Nest, sit in the hot tub with a glass of fizz and relax!
