Boat trips are available in season and offer a spectacular view of the coastline.
Visit the beautifully maintained Georgian country estate, Llanerchaeron, just 2½ miles south east of Aberaeron, or you can walk from the town along a wide level pedestrian pathway. The farm itself has 140 acres, and the farmland links up to the Ystwyth Cycle Trail which is over 16 miles long. The interiors of the properties have vaulted ceilings, modern lighting, and furnished with leather sofas and wood-burning stoves, each with a hot tub available. All 3 properties (refs OA5, OA6 and OA7) can be booked together to form one large house sleeping 12, and they all have interconnecting doors which can be opened up. There is also the option of taking a horse on holiday, the farm has 6 loose boxes and a paddock which can be made available. Located near Tregaron, a small Welsh-speaking market town where guests can visit the famous Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre that offers beautiful gifts and a fantastic art gallery. Tregaron is also famous for its trotting races, which are actually held here at Dolyrychain Farm on the Sunday following the May bank holiday and also over the August bank holiday weekend each year. The event is the largest of its kind and attracts over 10,000 visitors. This is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the Cambrian Mountains at the foot of the farm and the panoramic Pumlumon Mountains to the north. Visit the university town of Aberystwyth, home of the National Library of Wales, take a walk on the promenade or even catch the electric cliff railway on Construction Hill. For a magical day out take the narrow gauge railway from Aberystwyth to the heart of the Pumlumon Mountains where the destination will be the world famous Devils Bridge and Rheidol Falls. Caravan Two is situated on the owner’s land, with six lakes available for coarse and fly fishing (equipment for all fishing needs can be hired on-site). This detached static caravan offers open plan living, a bathroom, a twin room and a double room, as well as a lawned area to the front overlooking the main coarse fishing lake. It lies in a lovely hamlet just 4¼ miles from the fabulous harbour town of Aberaeron. This town is a Georgian jewel with elegant, colour-washed houses surrounding the harbour and was reputedly planned and designed by John Nash. It has a shingle beach and there is a range of small, interesting shops, craft centres, pubs and restaurants.
Nearby Cardigan Bay has lots to see and do in and around the town. There are two beaches to enjoy, good launching for small boats from the harbour, boat trips to spot the marine life, sea angling, fishing for salmon/sea trout on the River Aeron or you can enjoy a cycle ride along one of the five Wales’ cycle trails. Why not take a stroll along Lover’s Walk’ past four weirs and along the river valley to Llanachaeron? Or try a coastal clifftop walk with stunning sea views and spectacular wildlife.
The property is also just 5 miles from New Quay Beach, a quaint seaside town with an array of little shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs. Enjoy fish and chips along the harbour whilst looking out for the frequently visiting bottlenose dolphins. Pretty New Quay with boats bobbing about in the harbour is just a few miles further on, and is definitely worth a visit. Take a stately meandering train ride on what was once a working link between local lead mines and the harbour. The Vale of Rheidol Railway now runs a steam train service through the Rheidol Valley terminating at Devil’s Bridge, and from here you can choose to go and see the three bridges over the river, or visit other attractions such as the famous Mynach Falls, Devil’s Punch Bowl and Jacob’s Ladder.
