These wonderfully converted farm buildings originally formed part of the grounds of Dolgoy Farm, believed to have originated around 400 years ago and in its heyday was in excess of 200 acres. These charming holiday homes are nestled within the grounds of the owners’ 35-acre small-holding, amidst the peaceful sounds of rural life and just 2 miles from the coast. Each property overlooks a lovely pond, home to ducks and other wildlife.
Aptly named Galleri (ref UK31147) features a gallery with a reclining chair overlooking the living area. It has a seating area to the front looking across to the pond and a sunken garden with a private Jacuzzi hot tub to the rear, from which you can enjoy the tranquillity of Dolgoy, catch the sun or enjoy the starry skies.
Snuggle Cottage (ref PA2), one of a row, is a cosy, beamed stone cottage for two, with a sitting area to the front of the cottage from which you can enjoy its tranquil surroundings as well as a pretty, private patio garden and Jacuzzi hot tub to the rear which catches the sun throughout the day.
Ponycob Cottage (ref PA6) is named after the Welsh name for pony; the larger Welsh cob, known for its hardiness and good temperament, historically used on the farm. This lovingly restored, semi-detached stone conversion features characterful beams and a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub, within a truly peaceful setting.
The Coach House Loft (ref 30160) is set on the first floor and has been sympathetically created within the Coach House, also boasting a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub.
The owners, who live adjacent to the properties, have lovingly renovated the buildings and preserved their features and history whilst providing contemporary amenities and comfort. The Tipis are situated on the owner’s 16-acre farmland, with sea views and beautiful meadows, forestry and waterfalls all on-site and within walking distance from the cottage – there are even pet lambs in the field. This is an ideal break away for a family or friends to enjoy this peaceful location, located just 2 miles from the fabulous quirky harbour towns of Aberaeron. Aberaeron retains its Georgian character with elegant brightly painted town houses and with a small harbour for yachts and fishing boats. Aberaeron is becoming something of a foodie pleasure. Stroll around the harbour along Quay Parade and enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants. The independent shops and craft centres are also a big hit amongst our guests. The town is right on the Wales Coast Path and The Coastal Way.
Ceredigion’s coast is also well-known for wildlife including the famous Cardigan Bay bottlenose dolphin pods, there are boat trips to explore the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast and the town features a Seafood Festival in July. From chilling out on the beach or enjoying a hearty harbour meal after a train ride Aberystwyth and Newquay which are a short drive offer traditional Welsh pubs, stylish restaurants and sandy beaches, where dolphins and porpoises are often spotted on a clear day. To the north are the famous slopes of Snowdon, offering breath-taking views with abundance of walks amidst the tumbling waterfalls, shimmering lakes with buzzards and peregrine falcons soaring high. The area is a natural playground for ramblers, mountain bikers and climbers alike.
The tipis consist of an open plan living/bedroom space with double bed, single sofa bed, a wood burning stove and externally there is a seating area with garden furniture and a fire pit. The kitchen is approximately 20 metres from the tipi with a fridge, freezer, sink, gas hob and microwave oven. The bathroom has a walk-in shower (wet room), again next to the kitchen area. This lovely semi-detached property has been restored to a high standard and is a perfect getaway for a romantic break. Cornel Clyd (Cosy Corner) comprises an open plan living area with underfloor heating, a wood burner and Smart TV, dining area and kitchen. There is also a utility room and a store room, great for those who wish to bring their bikes. The living room leads out to the enclosed lawned garden with a hot tub and the garden is great for letting your four-legged friend out too. There is also a terrace which looks over the lovely countryside. On the first floor of the property is a wet room with underfloor heating and a double room with super kingsize zip and link bed.
The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is just under 7 miles away and here you will find the colourful houses and architecture that make it so distinctive. There is an array of individual shops and a wide choice of cafés, restaurants and pubs. Enjoy the famous honey ice cream or fish and chips whilst taking in the delightful sight of boats bobbing about in the harbour. The sweeping crescent of Cardigan Bay has over 60 miles of coastal pathway and stunning beaches, scenery and seaside towns and villages to explore, including Aberystwyth, New Quay, Llangrannog and Cardigan. Within a half mile walk of Llanon beach, this bright, spacious holiday property boasts well-appointed family accommodation and an excellent village location a short stroll from local pubs and shops. These 3 beautiful and spacious barn conversions are set on a working sheep and beef farm, and each property has its own private hot tub. The farm itself has 140 acres, and the farmland links up to the Ystwyth Cycle Trail which is over 16 miles long. The interiors of the properties have vaulted ceilings, modern lighting, and furnished with leather sofas and wood-burning stoves, each with a hot tub available. All 3 properties (refs OA5, OA6 and OA7) can be booked together to form one large house sleeping 12, and they all have interconnecting doors which can be opened up. There is also the option of taking a horse on holiday, the farm has 6 loose boxes and a paddock which can be made available. Located near Tregaron, a small Welsh-speaking market town where guests can visit the famous Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre that offers beautiful gifts and a fantastic art gallery. Tregaron is also famous for its trotting races, which are actually held here at Dolyrychain Farm on the Sunday following the May bank holiday and also over the August bank holiday weekend each year. The event is the largest of its kind and attracts over 10,000 visitors. This is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the Cambrian Mountains at the foot of the farm and the panoramic Pumlumon Mountains to the north. Visit the university town of Aberystwyth, home of the National Library of Wales, take a walk on the promenade or even catch the electric cliff railway on Construction Hill. For a magical day out take the narrow gauge railway from Aberystwyth to the heart of the Pumlumon Mountains where the destination will be the world famous Devils Bridge and Rheidol Falls.
