Located at the end of an unmade road, they sit quietly in this rural community, yet they are within easy driving distance of the city of Chester, famous for being a walled city with its unique half timbered galleried shops and its Victorian Eastgate clock - said to be the most photographed timepiece in the world after Big Ben. Shops, restaurants and history are all to be found here. Chester has the largest amphitheatre in Britain, a 10th century cathedral, two renowned museums - the Grosvenor and Military Museums, and not forgetting the zoo! The walk around the walls is approximately 2 miles and offers a birdseye view of the city centre with views across to Wales’ magnificent mountains. Cheshire Oaks retail outlet village is a short drive away. At the end of the lane is the Beachin therapy swimming pool for dogs. Malpas, with its magpie style houses, Beeston with its castle, Tattenhall where the Cheshire Farm Dairy ice cream is made and Farndon which links Cheshire to Wales by a sandstone bridge are all an easy drive. This detached barn, situated in the five-acre grounds of the owners’ home, is a short drive from the National Trust Tatton Park. As you enter the open plan living space filled with oak beams, you are greeted by a warm welcoming living area. If it’s a lovely sunny day, why not open the patio doors to the large, manicured gardens and sit and watch the world go by? The modern kitchen area is perfect for cooking up a storm and entertaining friends or family. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one king sized, two double beds), beams and vaulted ceilings and a separate bathroom. Outside is a beautiful lawned garden made for al fresco dining or cooking a fabulous barbecue. Alternatively, there are many beautiful country walks to try, one of which begins at the property.
Wee Bridge Farm Cottage is situated in the village of Mobberley which has six wonderful country pubs, a farm shop, a bakery, a selection of other shops and its own train station. It is a great base to explore the area. The quaint town of Knutsford is only a five-minute drive away and has antique and specialist shops as well as many restaurants. Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Altrincham, and Hale are also close by.
Or head to iconic Manchester about 30 minutes away which has many attractions including Legoland discovery centre, various museums and art galleries and, of course, Old Trafford (football and cricket) and the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool is less than an hour’s drive away and is the birthplace of the Beatles.

This superb semi-detached cottage can be found just over half a mile from the centre of Disley, which is best known as the home to the National Trusts magnificent Lyme Park.

Completely renovated throughout in 2022 the property benefits from beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, and also has lovely gardens to the rear. Being less than a mile from the Peak District National Park on the border of Cheshire and Derbyshire means the location is perfect for lovers of the great outdoors, with ample wonderful walks and cycle trails literally on the doorstep. Disley itself is a thriving village with a range of amenities including pubs, restaurants and a train station that can be reached in around a 15-minute walk. Disley Station offers a direct service to both Manchester and Buxton in just 30 minutes meaning the hustle and bustle of city life can be combined with the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.

Neighbouring New Mills can be reached in around a 10-minute drive and is home to the Torrs Riverside Park and Millennium Walkway, which is a much-admired bridge set deep into the gorge. Buxton is just 20 minutes and most famous for its therapeutic spring water, Pavilion Gardens and of course Opera House. Also, just 20 minutes is the beautiful honeypot village of Castleton, wonderful Edale which is the start/end of the Pennine Way and Hayfield from where you can hike to the highest point in the Peak District, Kinder Scout.
