Situated in the heart of Loch Lomond National Park, these stunning holiday properties have been lovingly restored and furnished to provide wonderful retreats.
Auchendennan Farm Cottage (SLLX) is a single-storey holiday cottage; within the house there is a large family sauna which can be used as an ideal way to unwind. Outside on the sun decking, there is a sunken hot tub which is large enough for all the family and powerful enough to give tired muscles a proper massage. Rose Cottage (SRRG) is a single-storey conversion adjoining the owner’s farmhouse. Combining modern and traditional furnishings, the property boasts a superb hot tub and external sun decked area for relaxing and unwinding. Burnbeag (SVVE) is a stunning, detached cottage to the rear of the steadings and has a stream running through its private enclosed garden, which has a decked area and hot tub. Courtyard Studio (SVVD) is a single-storey barn conversion set in the courtyard, behind the main house. Chestnut Cottage (SXXO), Willow Cottage (SXXP), Primrose Cottage (SXXQ) and Ivy Cottage (SXXR) are all pretty single-storey, semi-detached holiday cottages, with open-plan living areas and a cosy, wood-burning stove.
In summer, Loch Lomond’s ancient oak woods ring with birdsong. Look out for redstarts, pied flycatchers and wood warblers. Ospreys are summer visitors to the loch and nearby Lake of Menteith. In the high country of Breadalbane, golden eagles may be seen soaring over mountain slopes richly carpeted in alpine plants. Watch out for porpoises and seals and glimpse Loch Lomond’s herd of fallow deer as they bound through the trees. Loch Lomond and Loch Earn are some of Scotland’s prime venues for sailing and water-skiing, while the rivers Balvaig and Teith are popular with canoeists. The Teith is also a great salmon river and one of many places popular with anglers. For golfing enthusiasts, the famous courses of Loch Lomond are just a short distance from the property, with an abundance of courses for all standards within easy reach.
Walking is a popular pursuit, from gentle low-level strolls to strenuous mountain climbs. Ben Lomond, Ben Lui, Ben Ime and Ben Vorlich are among the 21 Munros (mountains over 3000 feet). The West Highland Way stretches from the edge of Glasgow to Fort William, hugging the banks of Loch Lomond and passing through the spectacular mountain scenery of Strathfillan. There are great opportunities for cycling on and off road on National Cycle Network Route 7, which passes through the National Park from Balloch to Killin. Cameron House, the 5 star golf/spa resort is just minutes from the property where one can enjoy fine dining, day spa packages and championship golf. Lomond Shores, again a short distance from the property, offers designer shopping, loch cruises and an aquarium. Located under 3 miles from Crackington Haven, a coastal village at the head of a cove on the Atlantic coast and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is popular with tourists, walkers, surfers and geology enthusiasts. At high tide the shoreline is mainly stony but when low you are greeted to a lovely golden sandy beach with plenty of rock pools to enjoy. And surfers, both experienced and beginners enjoy the varying tidal conditions the cove provides and with lifeguard cover from July to end of September you can relax a little bit more too! Locally there are also tea rooms and a pub to enjoy. On-site, there is a shared games room with pool table, air hockey, dart board, large chalk board, disco ball and bluetooth speaker.
If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice in the wider area. Much of the coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of this property including Boscastle, Morwenstow and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination too. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. It has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the South West Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside.
Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre. Located in the rural hamlet of Moss Side on the outskirts of wonderfully cosmopolitan Lytham, this wonderful complex of six holiday cottages provide a perfect base for friends and family alike wanting a fabulous seaside getaway. Newly renovated in 2022 they’re set around a pretty courtyard and surrounded by superb countryside despite being just 3 miles from the coast.
There’s a variety of single and two-storey cottages all comfortably accommodating four guests, plus an additional three bedroom cottage that comes complete with hot tub. Careful thought and design has gone into each of the conversions making great use of original features where possible. Large windows have also been included to many of the open plan living arrangements to ensure a bright and airy space, and to really make the most of the countryside views.
The centre of ‘Leafy Lytham’ is less than 3 miles away, or a 4 minute train journey from Moss Side station which is around a 10 minute walk. Lytham is a lovely seaside town where you can enjoy everything from fish and chips to fine dining plus lots of coffee shops. It’s famed for its iconic ‘Windmill on the Green’, as well as the annual Lytham Festival and Lytham Proms. A direct train service will also take you to neighbouring St Annes in 10 minutes where you’ll find a huge beautiful sandy beach, and then in 20 minutes you’ll reach Blackpool. Blackpool is home to a massive amount of tourist attractions including Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, the Sandcastle Water Park, SEA LIFE Blackpool and of course the annual illuminations light show.
For any golfers, there’s plenty of championship courses in the area and the reeds and marshes of the Ribble Estuary are popular with birdwatchers and wildlife lovers. Swapping the coast once more for countryside, slightly further afield the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the South Lakes can be reached within an hour. Beach 5 miles. It is conveniently located close to the Fylde Coast and just 5 miles from the popular seaside resort of Blackpool. Poulton-le-Fylde is just 1½ miles away which has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. There are also lots of family friendly pubs in the area as well as play centres for the children. Activities available locally include golf, fishing and horse riding, as well as plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling.

Blackpool, whose many attractions include the famous Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, Madame Tussauds, Blackpool Zoo and Sandcastle Water Park, is just 5 miles away. For a more laid back seaside experience, Cleveleys, 5 miles, has an award-winning seafront, and the cosmopolitan town of Lytham St Annes, 13 miles, is famous for its 5 championship golf courses and annual Proms. Other places within easy driving distance include Preston, 15 miles, and Lancaster, 20 miles. For those who prefer to leave their car behind, there is a good public transport network in the area with buses from the main road into Blackpool. The owners have done an exquisite job bringing Coillemore House back to life. It’s been completely renovated and awaits visitors to enjoy its wonderful interiors and extensive gardens, in a truly spectacular situation. The location really cannot be overstated. Coillemore House sits just above the village of Balmacara on National Trust for Scotland land and enjoys views of the sea and the Isle of Skye. Across the tidal waters of Loch Alsh lonely Sgurr na Coinnich stands tall on the island. The house is over 150 years old and is bursting with character. Attractive is one word to describe Coillemore, it’s pleasing on the eye, and the more time you spend at the house the more difficult it is to leave. You have the added benefit of a private, wood-fired hot tub during your stay- please note that this is heated via a stove and so takes longer to warm up than a conventional hot tub. It’s a charming place, and perfect to spend time away from the rigours of modern life. There are wonderful local walks straight from the doorstep (guides to which will be in your welcome pack). You’ll be surprised that even though some of Europe’s best sights are on your doorstep at Coillemore, once you’re at the house you’ll struggle to head off and explore - it’s that nice.
During your stay, when you do manage to get yourself in the car for some west coast adventures, the choice is overwhelming. There’s world-class hill walking in literally every direction, the Kintail Sisters are several miles to the east and are a highlight of any Munro-bagger. Also beyond Eilean Donan Castle at Dornie is the road to Glenelg, which is well worth a trip for the brilliant Inn, Arnisdale on Loch Hourn, more hillwalking and the jumping off point for wild Knoydart adventures. To the north of Coillemore, following the minor road through National Trust land, often passing the semi-wild Highland cattle that roam the Estate, you’ll reach wonderful Plockton on Loch Carron. Options open up beyond for even more exciting adventures of the rugged, romantic Highland interior, with the Bealach na Bà enticing many over to Applecross. Both Torridon and Shieldaig are spectacular but easily accessible and very popular with visitors.
The real draw though for many staying at Coillemore House is the Isle of Skye, that island out the window, you’ll be over the sea to Skye in a little over 5 minutes from the house and spoilt for choice once again. The south of Skye, the Sleat peninsula, is the quietest part and worth exploring for fine food and drink. The centre and west is brimming with peaks, many the finest in the UK. The legendary Cuillin Ridge awaits, after hiking hills there’s whisky to taste, why not try the world famous Talisker? Fairy Pools to see and lunar landscapes to gawk at up in the north of Skye. Your must sees are The Old Man of Storr, Quiraing and of course the lighthouse at Point Neist. There’s so, so much to see. A week won’t be nearly enough. Coillemore House is simply fantastic, there’s character, comfort and luxury at every corner. Beach 4½ miles.

This lovely barn is on the edge of the family farm, which has been superbly restored in 2021 and extended to provide great family sized accommodation with space for everyone to enjoy. Ideal for families staying together with two separate staircases to the first floor, a large south facing patio with 15ft swim spa, as well as a lawned garden for fun family games.
Just 5 miles from the sandy beaches at Chapel St Leonards and within 15 minutes’ drive you have the traditional seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe, Fantasy Island, Butlins, Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve and The Lincolnshire Wolds. A footpath through the field takes you to the village pub where you can have food, and is a 10-minute walk away, before you return to soak in the swim spa after a busy day out. For those wishing to enjoy a very popular gastro pub there is one at Skendleby approximately a 10-minute drive away.
You can even bring your family pets, with up to three dogs welcome, but please be aware there could be cattle or sheep in adjacent fields. There are very good walks from the door with the area also being very popular for cyclists. Beach 5 miles and pub 1 mile.

Situated on a working cattle farm, this pair of detached cottages are in the ideal location to explore Dumfries and Galloway, from the Galloway Hills and the Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park, with many hidden lochs, burns and waterfalls, to the beautiful coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages. You may even be lucky and spot seals and minke whales, and will most certainly see a host of seabirds.

The area is steeped in history and the landscape diverse, a haven for artists, birdwatchers and walkers. The Mull of Galloway, with its lighthouse and grass topped visitor centre, is Scotland’s most southerly point with amazing views of Ireland, England, the Isle of Man and Scotland! Wigtown Bay Local Nature Reserve is the largest local reserve in the UK. It has internationally recognised, significant numbers of pink-footed geese, greylag geese, many species of duck and wading birds, visiting in autumn and winter.
