The many golf courses include the world famous Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry courses, both close to hand, with Turnberry also having a fantastic spa and outdoor centre. Culzean Castle (National Trust Scotland) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction.
    The islands of Cumbrae, Arran and Bute are all easily reached by ferry for a day out. Troon and Ayr are only a short drive away. Prestwick town has a very good rail service for a trip to the cosmopolitan city of Glasgow and also historic Edinburgh. It takes 7 minutes to drive to Gosport harbour front where there is a long-stay car park (at cost) and with a return passenger ferry ticket across Portsmouth Harbour you can soon spend a quality day at either the naval dockyard or at Gunwharf Quays, a retail outlet with many designer stores, restaurants, bowling alley and multi-screen cinema and Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower, both located close to the ferry terminal.
    From Portsmouth Harbour there are fabulous views to be enjoyed on a promenade to Southsea and Old Portsmouth where you can enjoy excellent pubs beside the fish market whilst watching the fishing boats or catch the hovercraft to the Isle of Wight.
