Step outside and you have a garden to enjoy, simply discover the many lanes and footpaths nearby. The small village of Cross Inn offers a pub and a village store. The nearest pretty secluded cove and beach at Cwmtydu can be reached within 3 miles, renowned for legends of smugglers and pirates, and where today, seals come to have their pups in early autumn. The unspoilt Ceredigion Coastal Path takes you over cliffs and through ancient woodland. The paths offer excellent walking opportunities and connect all the local beaches, many of which are dog friendly all year round if you are bringing your four-legged friend.
Delightful New Quay is also 2¼ miles away with its picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants. The town clings to the side of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. It’s easy to understand why this area was such an inspiration to poet Dylan Thomas when he lived here. Often bottlenose dolphins can be spotted, and in season, dolphin survey boat trips are available from the sheltered harbour, or you can just enjoy the sandy beach, have an ice cream or fish and chips and watch the boats bobbing about.
Visit the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, the ancient town of Cardigan with its castle, or Aberystwyth with its promenade and pier, home to the world’s longest working electric cliff railway.

Aberporth is 5 minutes’ drive away and offers pubs, cafés and two stunning beaches; it’s the perfect destination to explore the three counties of west Wales being centrally located to Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and Ceredigion.
Travel south to the traditional market town of Cardigan, where the beautifully restored castle is not to be missed with 900 years of history to uncover. Enjoy a short walk into the village to discover the traditional Welsh pub or a freshly brewed coffee in the village café. There’s so much to explore in Cardigan Bay but if you want a day out to Pembrokeshire you can reach the well-known family attractions of Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo within an hour’s drive. Two miles from Llangrannog’s sandy beaches, on the cleanest coast in Britain, this comfortable traditionally furnished farmhouse is set in its own gardens surrounded by unspoilt pastureland. Llangrannog offers a small slipway, a village shop, cafes and a pub/restaurant, along with a dry ski slope, whilst the popular harbour town of New Quay has sailing and fishing trips.
The market town of Cardigan has an indoor swimming pool, a sports centre, a skateboard park, art galleries and a theatre/cinema complex. There are two coastal golf courses nearby. As for things to do in the area, Pendeen and its surroundings offer a wealth of activities and attractions. The historic Pendeen lighthouse, perched on the cliffs, will give you an insight into its maritime history. The area is surrounded by mining heritage, and you can visit Geevor Tin Mine or Botallack mines featured in Poldark. Portheras Cove is ½ mile away, and Portherras Beach (a secluded and dog-friendly cove perfect for picnics and paddling) is one of the many beaches in the area. If you travel further you will come to Porthcurno beach, a stunning secluded beach and how to the famous outdoor Minack theatre, carved into the cliffs. The nearest town is St Just full of artisan shops, galleries restaurants, pubs, and cafes, for a full day out head to Lands’ End just over 10 miles away.
Two dogs are welcome (but please keep off the furniture!) and there is a designated doggy shower outside as well as dog hairdryer.

The picturesque fishing town of Aberaeron is only six miles away with its large harbour encased by pastel-shaded Georgian houses. A short drive inland leads to the rural and traditional towns of Lampeter and Tregaron, where the Welsh language is mostly used by the locals. Tregaron feels almost untouched by the 21st century and is a bastion of the Welsh language and culture. The river running through the town centre leads to Cors Caron, a national nature reserve of peat bog which is one of the most impressive wildlife areas in Wales; home to rare marsh grasses, black adders, buzzards and even the occasional red kite. A perfect opportunity to discover the real Wales. Shops 3 miles, pub in village.

This stylish two-storey semi-detached converted barn is in Dyffryn Ardudwy near Barmouth. Only 2-minutes drive from the beach, it is beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated offering the perfect retreat for couples looking to explore this beautiful part of North Wales. Relax on the sumptuous L-shaped leather sofa facing onto a Freeview TV with windows facing out towards the flowerbeds and the fields beyond. The kitchen is compact but well-equipped including a modern oven and hob as well as integral fridge and plenty of storage space. An attractive wooden breakfast bar separates the two areas. Upstairs, the sense of style and elegance continues with a large super kingsize bed, and the en-suite includes a large spacious and powerful shower. Outside there’s a small patio area where you can relax with a glass of wine. There is also a larger garden area, shared with two other cottages also sleeping 2 (refs UK6585 and UK6586), together with a shared hot tub offering fantastic views out over Cardigan Bay.
There are walks from the door and the amazing sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn offers lovely coastal walks. You can visit Harlech with its impressive landmark Edward I castle (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) which towers over the town, or explore the seaside town of Barmouth – and why not hire a bike to explore the Mawddach Trail which runs over Barmouth Bridge and along the route of the old railway line along the estuary to Dolgellau? These pet friendly holiday barns are situated less than half a mile from the stunning north coast of Cornwall. The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach.
In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer.
Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen as well as open-plan living. Each has its own sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Each property also has access to electric car charging points which a charge for use however if you require using the charging points you must bring your own lead. There are no local amenities as it is in a hamlet, but only a 5 minute car journey to the local village; we suggest you look at the welcome folder in the cottage to familiarise yourself to your surroundings and to discover what amenities are local to your stay. Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin.
Close by is Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

This charming ’chocolate box’ thatched, detached holiday cottage is situated in the heart of the coastal village of Winterton-on-Sea. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished. The cottage has exposed beams throughout and offers a welcoming holiday break whatever the season. Set in a quiet crescent just 55 yards from the village pub, renowned for its food. It is just a short stroll to the sandy beach and dunes nature reserve offering miles of peaceful walks. View the local seal colony or enjoy bird watching and walking. Great Yarmouth is 9 miles away for the traditional seaside attractions and the Norfolk Broads is 6 miles away for boat hire, fishing and sailing. For children, BeWILDerwood at Horning offers an outdoor tree house adventure with zip wires, jungle bridges, marsh walks and boat trips which all add up to a great day out, or alternatively spend a day in the fine city of Norwich with its cathedrals, Castle Museum and array of shops. Horsey Mill (National Trust) is also to be found locally and worth a visit. There is a free pass for four cars which allows parking on the Winterton Beach car park.
