    Just down the valley from Betws-y-Coed is the famous Marin Bike Trails, with colour coded routes suitable for all abilities. You’ll find a bike hire shop in Betws-y-Coed and at the nearby market town of Llanrwst; here you will also find a larger grocery store. Just up the road from the Marin bike trails is Llyn Geirionydd (Geirionydd Lake) this is a wonderful spot for a day out where you can use the lake to take a dip or use your paddle boards and kayaks; there are picnic benches available, parking and toilets.

About 20 minutes’ drive from the cottage is Llechwedd Slate Caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, another great day out for the kids and adults alike, with further activities for all interests such as deep mine tours, underground golf, ziplines and more.
