    Situated just north of Bude with fabulous access to all of the glorious beaches including Northcott Mouth beach and Sandymouth a bit further to the north, both of which have glorious expanses of golden sand at low tide. Bude itself has a wealth of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and galleries, a great playground and interesting canal. Further north and you are over the border into Devon where Clovelly is well worth a visit. The property adjoins another house, although the garden and driveway shown in the photos is exclusive to Skyber Barnacott.
    The closest village to Skyber Barnacott is Kilkhampton which dates back to before Saxon times. There you can find the remains of a 12th century motte and bailey style Norman castle. The church of St James the Great is over 450 years old. Both of the two pubs in the village the New Inn and London Inn serve food. Beach 4⅓ miles.

Fistral Beach holds many surfing competitions throughout the year, and hosts Run to the Sun over May Bank holiday, a VW and Custom Car Show.
    The Royal Cornwall Show ground at Wadebridge hosts the county show every June, come rain or shine, and is opened each year by a member of the Royal Family.     Acorns is a comfortable two storey one bedroom cottage, occupying one end of the Owners’ superb, converted granite barn which used to be an old threshing barn. Located in a small hamlet of about ten houses and converted barns, this peaceful rural location is a wonderful place to escape to at any time of year. A great dog friendly cottage too! The barn itself is set out in reverse style with open plan living space on the first floor and access into the enclosed garden. On the ground floor there is a double bedroom with external access, a large bathroom with original Victorian roll-top bath, and a separate shower.
    Acorns is in three designated areas - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Area of Great Scientific Value and Area of Great Historic Value. Something for everyone! The oak tree shown in the photos is the "famous" Darley Oak which is over 1000 years old. This is a great location to visit if you are a keen walker. There are endless opportunities to explore the local area.
    The wilds of Bodmin Moor with endless walking opportunities are nearby and the spectacular scenery of both Cornish coasts and Dartmoor are all within easy reach. The area abounds with country pubs - most of which have roaring fires in the winter months, and the towns of Launceston and Liskeard are just short distance away. Acorns is just 2 miles from Minions, Cornwall’s highest village, the famous Cheesewring, a dramatic outcrop of granite slabs and The Hurlers, a set of three bronze age stone circles.     Less than 2 miles from Bodmin. This area is a great place to explore by bicycle and you can either bring your own or hire them locally and roam along the nearby Camel Trail. Barn Cottage is an ideal base for touring the whole of Cornwall with a host of nearby sandy beaches such as Polzeath, Harlyn and Trevone. Classic Cornish villages such as Fowey, Mevagissey, Port Isaac and Boscastle are all within easy reach, as is the bustling fishing town of Looe. The famous Eden Project is well worth a visit as is the stately home at Lanhydrock, both just a few minutes away. The beautiful River Fowey is accessible for walks at various points nearby including Golitha Falls and Respryn, with their ancient beech woodlands, and in the former Cornish capital of Lostwithiel. Lanhydrock golf course is approximately one mile away for those desiring a leisurely round or two!
    The oldest part of Bodmin is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. The 18-mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families. Regular farmers markets occur every Wednesdays and Saturday, and there are also arts and craft markets also on a Saturday. There is a wonderful range of shopping for the visitor including all the regular high street stores, but also a wide range of more specialist stores.     The Light House is in the pretty little village of Gwithian. The Light House is a spacious, dog-friendly, four-bedroom cottage, with an open plan, feel on the ground floor where the conservatory links through to the living room and kitchen. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a patio to the rear of the house, a great spot to enjoy some al fresco dining or a barbecue. There is a ground floor double bedroom that would ideally suit one person but could accommodate a couple. On the first floor the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and views towards the sea, and another bedroom has a bunk bed. Up on the second floor accessed by steep stairs is a twin bedroom. Please note that the ground floor double bedroom and the shower room can be separated from the rest of the ground floor with the pull down roller blind.
    Blasted by the breeze off the Atlantic, the magnificent beach at Gwithian Towans is always a colourful scene of windsurfers on the water, blow karts on the beach and kites in the sky. Backed by sand dunes, tufted with wild grass, at low tide, there is a vast amount of sand to enjoy, and large areas of rock pools are uncovered, which are great for kids to explore. The beach is dog friendly for most of the year with restrictions only applying between 10am and 6pm in July and August. Gwithian Towans is lifeguard patrolled (during high season). There is some great countryside to explore near here, but a highlight is the stunning coastal road between St Ives and St Just where the moorland meets the sea - wild and dramatic! If you take the train to St Ives, the line hugs the coast, and the views are quite beautiful, and the restaurants are superb. Both the north and south coasts are easily accessible, making it an ideal location for those looking to take advantage of the great surfing spots available in this part of Cornwall. Take your pick, depending on the conditions!
