The beautiful gardens provide a peaceful haven with summerhouse and children’s play area. The cottages lie just minutes from the south coast including the fishing village of Mevagissey and the seafaring town of Fowey with its royal regatta and Du Maurier Festival (Daphne du Maurier made the town her home). Nearby are the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the amazing Eden Project. Visit Truro, the capital of Cornwall with its Gothic cathedral, surrounded by narrow streets and alleyways lined with shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. St Austell Bay, just minutes away, has a stunning coastline which has pretty coastal towns and villages dotted along its edge. Charlestown is home to a collection of tall sailing ships, an historic harbour and Georgian architecture, all of which have been used as film and TV sets over many years. Porthpean has a lovely unspoilt beach, golf club and views across the bay. Visit Pentewan with picturesque cycle and walking trail along a river and through a 450-year-old woodland. Rivendell Glamping Pod (ref UK11881) is unique in design and provides the opportunity to enjoy glamping in style. Set just behind the main farmhouse, this cedar-clad cylindrical ’Hobbit-style’ pod offers living accommodation in one pod, with washing facilities in another. The main living pod has a 4ft double bed nestled between two 2ft singles, which can be converted to sofas, and if the weather is inclement you will be warm and cosy with a flatscreen TV and DVD player to keep you entertained. Polean Farm Cottages are located in Cornwall, down green lanes, off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt. The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. All of the cottages are full of character and provide a cosy home-from-home. They have all been converted from original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century.
The Old Farmhouse (ref UK12895) is a historical, semi-detached farmhouse which has been tastefully renovated and is perfect for a large family get together or for two families to holiday together.
Little Owls Cottage (ref UK12896) is a detached barn named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building which can sometimes be heard at night. It is set in its own garden with glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt.
Rosebud Cottage (ref UK12897) and Shires Rest (ref UK12899) are pleasant, beamed cottages with lovely countryside views. Before being converted, both cottages were used to store hay in the winter and you can still see many of the original features.
Threpney Cottage (ref UK12898) is an imaginatively converted ’roundhouse’ and is full of character. The cottage was named after the old twelve sided three penny piece due to its shape.
Twinkles Cottage (ref UK12900) is a charming and spacious ‘upside down’, beamed cottage, with great views across the farm and surrounding countryside.
Waggoners Cottage (ref UK12901) is a delightful single-storey cottage, with its own garden and views of the front fields and the children’s play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it and you can still see many of the original features of the barn.
The Mealhouse (ref UK12902) was originally used to store the feed or ‘meal’ for the pigs that resided in the pig sty which can still be seen across from it. The Mealhouse is detached and set slightly apart from the other cottages, offering uninterrupted views across the farm.
Polean Farm provides the perfect destination for a family holiday. The farm offers animal feeding each week day morning, where you may help bottle feed lambs (seasonal) and hand feed pigmy goats and chickens, as well as enjoy pony or tractor rides! The farm is also a working livery yard and children and parents often enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day.
Guests have free use of an indoor heated swimming pool just a few minutes’ drive away. It’s perfect for families and children who want to splash around or those wanting to put in a few lengths and keep fit. Guests are also welcome to make free use of the nightly entertainment at the same local holiday complex which is just a few minutes’ drive from the farm. The entertainment is on every night and includes children’s entertainment, followed by grown up entertainment with top musicians, performers and comedians regularly appearing throughout the season. Children are allowed in the venue for the whole evening. Please note, the pool is not available during August due to overcrowding, and entertainment is not available November-March (except during school holidays). With further accommodation options within a small cluster of holiday lets which can be booked individually or together for larger parties. Downstairs is a large open plan living area that opens out to two acres of shared garden area, perfect for games on the lawn and enjoying al fresco dining. Within the living area you have a large dining table to seat ten guests, an immense sofa and two single sofa beds. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for your catering needs. Also on this level is a bedroom with a super kingsize bed which can be twin beds on request for maximum flexibility. The large ground floor bathroom has a generously sized shower and freestanding bath and is ideal for guests who may have mobility issues. Heading upstairs there are sloping ceilings throughout with some super skylights. Here you will find a shower room and the large master bedroom with its own balcony. Again, the kingsize bed offers the flexibility to be twin beds on request. You have a further bedroom comprising bunk bed and one single bed, creating a haven if you have younger members within your party. The Aviary has its own private garden with fire pit, seating and loungers, but furthermore there are 2 acres of garden (mainly lawn) with additional seating/fire pit which is shared with the other holiday lets.
Take time to visit the many local attractions including the world famous Eden Project, Cothele House and Quay, Tamar Valley outdoor pursuits, Morwelham Quay, Trethorne Leisure Park, St Mellion golf course and health club and Adrenalin Quarry to name but a few. There is plenty of parking on-site, a drying and storage room for cyclists, walkers, or those with motorbikes, a fabulous landscaped garden with a private patio area, large dining table with firepit and fabulous views across the fields to the moors. The town of St Austell is just an 8-minute drive away where you will find local shops, cinema and a choice of restaurants and pubs. Mevagissey is an ancient fishing village that offers local galleries, craft shops and fresh seafood restaurants. Barn Cottage is a delightful barn conversion with three bedrooms accommodating up to six people. The property is located in the beautiful village of St. Mawgan which boasts a well-known pub with lovely beer garden, village shop and tea room offering freshly made snacks. There is even a picturesque Japanese garden and Bonsai tree nursery which is well worth a visit.

The property is only a picturesque 25-minute walk away from the family friendly Mawgan Porth Beach, which has surfing facilities and is home to the famous Scarlet Hotel. St Mawgan is an ideal base to explore the surrounding area. Newquay, famous for its sandy beaches, water sports and bustling town, is only a 15-minute drive away. Rick Stein’s sea food restaurant is also within easy reach, located in Padstow a mere 15-minute drive away.
