Cobblers Cottage dates from the mid-19th century and is a lovely example of the style found in Cornwall at this time. The cottage has an inviting kitchen which is well equipped, warm and cosy. The living room has an original fireplace, housing an electric wood burner and has soft furnishings to sink into. There is a delightful snug, where you can relax with your favourite book, whilst upstairs are two comfortable double bedrooms with views across the village and beyond. The family bathroom has superb tiling in traditional Cornish colours and has both a bath and efficient electric shower over. The garden has been carefully tended and has an array of flowers, shrubs and plants with a wooden bench in a secluded part, with subtle lighting. There is parking for one car across the owner’s driveway and roadside parking is also available.
The village of Nanpean, translated from the Cornish meaning ‘little valley’, is just 4 miles from the town of St Austell and is steeped in history. The historical village port of Charlestown is 7 miles away and has been the setting of many films and the popular series of Poldark, due to it’s originality and authentic tall ships. There is a fascinating Shipwreck Museum here along with pubs and restaurants. The Clay Trails offer wonderful walks and cycling paths and an insight into the once huge industry of clay mining which was a major part of the economy for the area. The scenery is quite stunning here. There is a lovely short walk which begins next to the cottage and takes you down through woodland and on past the football pitch, itself for public use.
The buzzing town of Newquay, famed for its water sport activities, restaurants, bars and beaches is a lively place and sits just 11 miles away. This location is also perfect for exploring the harbour towns and villages to the east, including beautiful Fowey, with its narrow streets and ancient natural harbour. Polperro, famous for smuggling connections in times gone by, is a ‘must visit’, whilst Looe, with its hills looking down to the delightful harbour, is quite beautiful, especially at night when the waterside lighting creates a somewhat magical feel.
Further inland, the unique Eden Project shows a world beneath huge biomes and is an amazing experience. Atmospheric Bodmin Moor offers breathtaking views from its rising tors and mysterious stone structures, whilst the Camel Trail can be enjoyed by hiring a bicycle and travelling part or all of its 18 miles, along stunning scenery, unseen and hidden from busy roads. The property is serviced by a private well. Therefore, we would ask that you are mindful of this during the hot summer months. The owner lives next door so can be on hand if required.
The cottage’s location is fantastic for exploring both the quaint and scenic countryside as well as the fantastic beaches on the coast, with the nearest shop being just a short walk away in the hamlet of Tregaswith, and lots of pubs and eateries to choose from in St. Columb Major down the road.
Set off on a surfing expedition to Newquay’s nearby world famous Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay known for enjoying incredible waves all year round, with surf schools here to teach beginners all they need to know!
Choose from several beaches along this stretch of coast, including Mawgan Porth Beach, Great Western Beach, Lusty Glaze Beach, Towan Beach and Crantock Beach, all of which are dog friendly all year round, so you’re sure to find a spacious spot for your group!

Padstow, renowned for its super seafood restaurants, many with celebrity chef status, is a thriving harbour town, with narrow streets and harbour a hive of activity. Cafes, boutique shops and art galleries sit side by side with restaurants and pubs. Hire a bicycle here and follow the Camel Trail, 18 miles of a mainly flat pathway, as it threads its way through woodland, revealing scenic views. The trail leads to Wadebridge, an ancient town with many amenities and on to Bodmin, where it’s mysterious and atmospheric moor of the same name boasts strange rock formations and views so spectacular. The Eden Project, a world beneath huge Biomes is a unique experience, whilst the exquisite Lost Garden of Heligan are both peaceful and truly beautiful. The beaches in this area have broad expanses of golden sand, rockpools for all ages to enjoy and coves long associated with the legends and tales of smuggling! You are also within easy reach of St Austell Bay, dotted with pretty coastal towns and villages for you to discover. Charlestown is home to a collection of tall sailing ships, an historic harbour and Georgian architecture; all of which have been used in film and TV sets over many years. Oceans is a lovely corner bungalow with a large, enclosed garden benefiting from sea views and located in a residential cul-de-sac just 100 yards from Widemouth Beach.
If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming, and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow, and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide, and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the Southwest Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area, and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. This property is situated in Perranporth, a seaside town on the north coast of Cornwall. The Annexe at Tenniside is a two-bedroom, ground floor property with its own parking and private garden. Located near a small stream and surrounded by woodland, you will find the beach to be a 10-minute walk away.
The property has everything that you would expect for a comfortable stay. The garden is very quiet and you can hear the water bubbling from the small stream. The owner has installed outdoor lighting and throws so you can enjoy the relaxing evenings whilst the little ones are tucked in bed. For those that are adventurous, why not lie in the hammock? The garden is full of colourful plants, and these are sold by the owner in the small stall on the road.
If you turn right out of the property you will see a huge tennis club, so for a small fee you can book the court, do not forget your rackets! A little further on is a very well-equipped play area for children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. There is basketball and a football pitch, as well as a table tennis to use. A little further you will find the duck pond, a beautiful place to walk, with plenty of benches, rowing boats full of flowers, and the island has a lovely waterfall. In the village you have local shops, restaurants, takeaways and cafés, offering everything from fish and chips to a roast dinner, catering for all types of cuisine you won’t be disappointed.
Perranporth beach is a 3-mile stretch of sand, a fantastic place for the whole family. There is a tidal pool at Chapel Rock as well as a fantastic watering hole. The Atlantic surf attracts surfers all year round, and there is something to do all year round. The coastal paths along Perranporth lead you to the stunning sand dunes of Penhale, an area designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.

Church View is centrally positioned within the village of Probus, an ideal location for exploring Cornwall. The cul-de-sac position provides a quiet corner with parking for two cars. The side shallow ramp leads to the main entrance and hallway, whilst the living/dining room is bright and welcoming with comfy sofas, gas fire, Smart TV and the all-important Wi-Fi. The rural village of Probus nestles between the city of Truro and town of St Austell making it a great location to visit the many beaches, fishing villages and the popular Roseland across the east & south coasts. A short drive will also take you across to the north coast toward Newquay. The village has a 16th century church and wide main street lined with elegant Georgian houses. The church tower is over 120’ high. Keen gardeners would appreciate the Probus Gardens, designed in the 1970’s to inspire people to make the most of Cornwall’s clement climate. There is a local pub along with takeaway options within walking distance from the property.

From here you can take the coastal path towards the St Agnes Heritage Coast, you will see the old engine mines and admire the stunning scenery, you will find the beautiful Chapel Porth Beach. Beware at high tide as the sand is totally covered, leaving a small sandy cove, however at low tide the beach expands to expose a wide sandy beach.
Portreath is a fishing harbour and another popular beach for surfers and families, great for exploring rock pools, the soft sand and sheltered location is popular all year round. For walkers that want to explore the historic mining area then the Twelveheads to Chacewater Circular Walk is a must, you will see the copper and tin mining in this amazing valley. However, you choose to spend your days, the cosy retreat of Sea Glass Cottage awaits, relax in the garden, or curl up next to the log burner and plan the next day.
