Fairview (CWC561946) is a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with an entrance on the first floor and a large living/dining room, a cosy wood-burning stove, there is a west-facing conservatory down a couple of steps with sofa and access to a small private garden. A family bedroom on the first floor provides a level living area for those with a mobility issue. On the ground floor are further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Barn Cottage (CWC562587) is also a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms on the ground floor.
This is a real farm experience, fresh free-range eggs are available from the owners, and there are a number of walks across the delightful 150 acres. This is a dog-friendly property however please note that it is a working Beef and Sheep farm, so dogs must be kept under control.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland which has a magnificent church with an amazing painted ceiling and one of the tallest towers in England. Hartland Quay has a hotel and Wreckers Bar as the coast here is littered with wrecks and is a lovely spot for some lunch. Also well worth a visit is the world-famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400’ high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. Beach 2 miles.

Sandpipers is a pretty, upside-down holiday cottage adjoining the owner’s farmhouse and is one of three characterful cottages at this location. There are two cosy bedrooms downstairs and a light and modern open plan kitchen/living space upstairs. There is a large TV and DVD player with a selection of DVDs, books and games to keep you entertained or simply curl up with a book and unwind on the comfy leather sofas. With its own private garden, you can enjoy a lazy breakfast while making plans for the day ahead, and you are welcome to use the owner’s fields for games or exercise.

Holsworthy is a historic market town just 2½ miles away with a good selection of local shops, a supermarket, amenities, a golf club and an indoor swimming pool and leisure centre. The village of Pyworthy, with its popular village inn and restaurant, is just ½ mile away. Bude is nearby with its historic castle, vibrant town centre and great range of good restaurants and bars and is perfect for a day out. While water sport enthusiasts can try their hand on the surf at one of the fabulous beaches. There is a range of water sports and fishing available at the nearby Tamar Lakes, as well as coastal and country walking, golf, surfing, horse riding, cycling on the National Cycle Route which passes by the cottage, or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. There is something for everyone in this stunning location. With pretty fishing villages and spectacular beaches and coves dotted all along this coastline from Padstow, Tintagel, Crackington Haven and Bude in Cornwall to Westward Ho!, Clovelly and Instow in Devon, and for a great day out, the famous Eden Project is within easy reach. Whilst being within a few seconds walk on a private walk way to the hustle and bustle of Tintagel Village, you can still enjoy the peaceful serenity that Mews Cottage offers being in a small secluded area from the village. Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church. This stylish semi-detached holiday home is located within the wooded grounds of a former hotel and on the edge of the historic and quaint Cornish fishing town of Looe, on Cornwall’s beautiful south coast and has great views across the estuary and wooded valley. The house is perfectly located in peaceful grounds, with French doors leading from the dining room to the patio, and French doors leading from the bedroom to a balcony. It provides an ideal base to enjoy the many amenities of the town and the surrounding area. This can be enjoyed by train as the local branch line and Looe station is close by. Looe has a widespread golden beach in the town that is essential for that perfect family holiday, while Hannifore Beach in West Looe is a year-round dog friendly beach. Looe is also home to one of the country’s major fish markets, where you can buy the freshest catch of the day for that special meal or barbecue on the beach. In September, the town hosts a popular and growing music festival with many big name acts appearing (early bookings recommended). Deep sea fishing, pleasure trips and other watersports can all be enjoyed in Looe along with woodland and coastal walks nearby. To the east of the town is the historic city of Plymouth, with its National Marine Aquarium, theatres, cinemas, bowling and shopping, while to the west is the sea faring town of Fowey, home to the royal sailing regatta and many galleries, both of which can be reached by ferry.
