Penzance, EnglandThis barn conversion, adjacent to the owner’s home, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in a tranquil, secluded location. This is the ideal holiday location being just a 5-minute drive from Lands End, which boasts spectacular cliffs with breathtaking scenery, and the very popular Sennen beach, which enjoys good surf and spectacular sunsets. The white sand of this popular beach attracts families and keen surfers. St Just is the nearest town, just 3 miles away, and has a busy square with shops, a bakery, four pubs, craft shops and art galleries. The fishing village of Mousehole is 6 miles with its small sandy beach area, pretty harbour, narrow twisting streets lined with excellent restaurants and pubs, or slightly further is St Ives, 12 miles. Penzance is also worth a visit, with its wealth of amenities including museums, fishing, golf, tennis and horse riding, as well as day trips to the Isles of Scilly. St Michael’s Mount at Marazion is a further 3 miles from Penzance. There is easy access to spectacular walks in the surrounding countryside and the coastal path to Cape Cornwall in one direction and Land’s End in the other. For cultural enthusiasts the St Ives Tate Gallery is on offer or the open air Minack Theatre at Porthcurno. Saint Dennis, EnglandPerfectly situated to enjoy the benefits of Cornwall and sitting quietly behind the converted chapel, overlooking the Cornish countryside, this converted Sunday School provides an ideal holiday base from which to explore the county. Cycling and walking on the official ’Clay Trails’ within the area are a must, along which you can explore the area and even reach the world famous Eden Project. St Austell, with its leisure centre, is approximately 6 miles, as is the village of Charlestown, home to ’tall ships’ and a shipwreck heritage museum that houses artefacts from the Titanic. To the north of the property, the fishing village of Padstow, with its numerous restaurants (local seafood is a speciality), is easily accessible. Also available is bike hire (the famous Camel Trail), fishing trips and diving. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches, is approximately 12 miles away. On the south coast, the ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was home to Daphne Du Maurier. Fowey has many events throughout the year, such as the Du Maurier festival and the Fowey Royal Regatta. It is also home to many galleries, pubs, restaurants and shops. Sea fishing, sailing and diving trips are available locally. Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. Treligga, EnglandThese pet friendly holiday barns are situated less than half a mile from the stunning north coast of Cornwall. The access is via a typical Cornish narrow road with beautiful scenic views of the sea peeping out through the hedgerow on approach.
In the heart of this small Cornish hamlet, the barns (refs 30108, 30109, 30110 and 30111) are furnished and fitted to provide a comfortable base from which to explore the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer. Each barn has a well-equipped kitchen as well as open-plan living. Each has its own sitting-out area, which is ideal for watching the wildlife and al fresco dining. Each property also has access to electric car charging points which a charge for use however if you require using the charging points you must bring your own lead. There are no local amenities as it is in a hamlet, but only a 5 minute car journey to the local village; we suggest you look at the welcome folder in the cottage to familiarise yourself to your surroundings and to discover what amenities are local to your stay.
This barn has the private use of a hot tub, but please note the first night the temperature may not of quite reached it’s optimal temperature due to the replenishment of fresh water post cleaning the tub.
Guests are close to the coastal path and if you walk north, you will reach Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants. A little further on, Boscastle with its picturesque harbour is a must. A small beach can be reached on foot, approximately ½ mile away. Travelling down the coast, guests will come to Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ is filmed, and further down the coast, visit the beautiful sandy surfing beach at Polzeath and the dunes at Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow. From Padstow, with its working harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants, you can hire bikes and cycle the Camel Trail to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin.
Close by is Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best, and for walkers the tors on the moor are a must. Further down the coast is Newquay, with its famous surfing beaches, Blue Reef Aquarium and Zoo and if you travel to the south coast, you will find Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey, just a few of the charming coastal villages. For cycling enthusiasts, there is a cycle hub at Lanhydrock, with some wonderful forest routes to be taken.
