It lies in a secluded and quiet area of North Cornwall, just a few minutes drive from some sandy beaches. The village of St Merryn is a 5-minute drive away and provides shops, takeaways and a range of eating places, and the local bakery is a must.
Just a short journey by car from this superbly positioned bungalow are the coastal villages of Constantine, with a golden beach backed by dunes and golf course; Harlyn surfing beach, with an excellent local pub serving local food and hosting live music; and Porthcothan with beautiful coastal walks and a sandy beach. You can also catch a passenger ferry from Padstow across to the pretty village of Rock, and there are some excellent walks through Daymer Bay past the Church at St Enedoc (the resting place of Sir John Betjeman the Poet Laureate) and on towards Polzeath for a drink in a beachside bar.
The beaches along this stretch of coast also have some of the best surfing that Cornwall can offer - all with surfing equipment hire and lessons should you want to try this exhilarating sport. Apart from Michelin-starred chefs, golfers are also well provided for in the St Merryn area. The number of quality golf courses here means you can play on a different course every day for a week, starting from Trevose and heading to the Point at Polzeatho, St Enedoc to Merlin and beyond.
