This pet-friendly, bright, semi-detached holiday home is comfortably furnished with plenty of personal touches. The property is situated down a quiet country lane and is surrounded by countryside. The patio doors from the living room lead to a lovely patio area with far-reaching views down to the Atlantic Coast, ideal for a morning cup of coffee or alfresco dining. Just over a mile outside Padstow, you are ideally situated to visit the many tourist attractions that the north coast has to offer. Padstow has an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s fish restaurant. You are close to the Camel Trail, where you can walk or cycle along a disused railway track by the Camel Estuary, taking in the bird life, to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Just a short drive away are the many sandy beaches of the north coast, including Watergate Bay, the home of extreme watersports. Visit the famous surfing beaches of Newquay, as well as a zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Horse riding and golf nearby. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

These two stone built holiday cottages (ref 29227 and ref TJU) date back to the 17 century and enjoy a rural location with superb sea views. Pet-friendly Downhouse Cottage was extended in Victorian times, while Downhouse has a rustic feel with a clome oven in the fireplace and a large garden. Water is supplied from a borehole; the water is wonderful and is tested annually, so no need for bottled water.
Both cottages benefit from a sitting-out area with stunning views of the coastline. Surrounded by countryside, they are perfect for walkers to enjoy the views from the South West Coastal Path. Ideally situated for visiting some of the many attractions of Cornwall, including Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, Boscastle with its harbour and Port Isaac, made famous by the TV’s ‘Doc Martin’. Further down the coast are Polzeath with its surfing beach, and Rock where you can take a ferry across to Padstow with its array of interesting shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein’s famous restaurant.. To the south, a short drive takes you to coastal towns of Looe and Polperro or the villages of Cawsand and Kingsand all steeped in history with tales of smuggling and wrecking. Their narrow streets revealing an array of restaurants and shops and beautiful cottages too. The beaches on this part of the coast are numerous and offer coves, inlets and low-tide rockpools – perfect for children of all ages to explore! The beautiful towns of Liskeard and Tavistock have many amenities and superb architecture and are well worth a visit. Take the train from Liskeard railway station, all the way to Plymouth, where spectacular scenery unrolls before you as you pass through the Lynher and Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This vibrant historic naval city has marinas, the famous Hoe, The National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican’s cobbled quayside.

As for things to do in the area, Pendeen and its surroundings offer a wealth of activities and attractions. The historic Pendeen lighthouse, perched on the cliffs, will give you an insight into its maritime history. The area is surrounded by mining heritage, and you can visit Geevor Tin Mine or Botallack mines featured in Poldark. Portheras Cove is ½ mile away, and Portherras Beach (a secluded and dog-friendly cove perfect for picnics and paddling) is one of the many beaches in the area. If you travel further you will come to Porthcurno beach, a stunning secluded beach and how to the famous outdoor Minack theatre, carved into the cliffs. The nearest town is St Just full of artisan shops, galleries restaurants, pubs, and cafes, for a full day out head to Lands’ End just over 10 miles away.
Two dogs are welcome (but please keep off the furniture!) and there is a designated doggy shower outside as well as dog hairdryer.

Visit the quaint harbour towns of Newlyn and Mousehole, and the romantic open air Minack Theatre is just a short drive away, built in to the cliff face overlooking the beautiful beach at Porthcurno, with stunning performances throughout the year. Surf at Sennen beach or walk along the glorious white sandy beach or cliff top to Lands End. Fishing is available locally, and the area is popular for bird watching with the marshes at Marazion and Hayle attracting bird and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world. Welcome to Willow Cottage, located in a secluded valley in a small hamlet, near the Tregeseal stone circle and just a five-minute drive from St Just. With the small river Nancherrow running through its gardens, it is an ideal retreat.
Recently renovated throughout to provide spacious, and peaceful family accommodation for six in three bedrooms. The décor of the property is quirky, you will always find something new, there are two large double bedrooms one on the ground floor with access to the garden and one on the first floor leading to the raised deck area. The third bedroom on the ground floor has a single bed and a raised single bed accessed by a ladder, older children will love this! The large open plan kitchen/dinner is ideal for socialising and the cosy sofas and chairs in the living room are inviting and comfortable, ideal for cuddling up with a good book in front of the wood burner or watching a good film on the 60” TV. There is plenty of space for your four-legged friends and children to explore, several sitting-out areas, ideal for morning coffee, or afternoon tea, at night watching the incredible night skies. If you don’t want to cook, head to St Just, a fifteen-minute walk or six minutes in the car, you will find a wide variety of eateries, catering to all tastes, as well as shops, galleries, and convenience stores.
If you want to pop into the Farm Market in nearby St Buryan you will be able to pick up locally sourced produce, if you want to try the local fish and seafood head to Newlyn. There is so much to do in the area explore the area where Poldark was filmed, visit the Tregeseal Stone Circle, Ross Wheal Leisure, and the Crown Mines below Bottalack. You can walk from St Just to Cape Cornwall, or follow the route Porth Nanven to Nanquidno, explore the beautiful coves and beaches, and watch the sunset at Sennen. If you fancy a round of golf Cape Cornwall is a ten-minute drive, surrounded by stunning coastal scenery it will be an experience!
