Portscatho, EnglandThe Bothy (CWC575120) is a semi-detached, listed cottage, nestled alongside the main farmhouse, with two bedrooms it is an ideal size for a small family yet not too big for a couple, the terrace is private and protected, you are bound to have pheasants wandering in front of the living room windows while you are kept cosy by the wood burning stove. At the same time, you can sit in the deep window seats watching yachts and ships pass by on the horizon. Lavender Cottage (CWC575149 was once the estate’s potting shed and is an oasis of calm. The private patio is a suntrap and overlooks the walled garden, the living room has a cosy fire and TV and excellent broadband, the kitchen is bright and airy and has French doors that open onto the patio. Upstairs is a cosy little bedroom and a bathroom. Overall, the cottage has plenty of character and charm; if you are after a romantic break, this is the perfect little cottage in the perfect location. Place Lodge (CWC575150) has traditional tall leaded windows; the living room is bright and airy and oozes character. There is a Victorian fireplace to warm up those chilly winter evenings, a spacious kitchen/dining room with an ornamental kitchen range and farmhouse table. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, a 5’ double, a twin bedroom, and a family bathroom and outside, to the rear, is a sunny sheltered patio.
Place Barton is located high on a ridge on St Anthony Headland and is part of the Place Estate, this is the perfect place to escape from reality there are few better places to enjoy the true beauty of the idyllic Roseland Peninsula. Surrounded by rolling rural landscapes, stunning walks with the best views of St Mawes, Place House, Pendennis Castle, Falmouth and the Carrick Roads. Explore St Anthony Head and the Lighthouse, famously used as the base for the TV series Fraggle Rock and also Molunan Beaches which are right by the lighthouse. As a bonus you can take the car down a private lane to within a couple of hundred yards of the beach, closer if you bring a 4x4, and are confident of its off-roading capability. Praa Sands, EnglandThis is a beautiful stone cottage that looks like it has been part of the scenery for years but was, in fact, a derelict barn that had fallen into complete disarray until it was lovingly rebuilt by the owner.
There are cleverly designed windows and Velux skylights that make it a surprisingly bright and welcoming cottage, wide patio doors that open from the living/dining room into the garden, a terraced area to the rear of the property and a good sized garden. The kitchen is well-equipped and dream to cook in, any budding chef will enjoy cooking a holiday feast here. Both bedrooms are spacious with a master bedroom with kingsize bed and second bedroom with double bed and single bed, along with a truly luxurious bathroom with separate shower and bath.
Trennal Barn is situated just outside the quiet hamlet of Godolphins Cross and is a couple of miles inland from some of the south coast’s best beaches; Praa Sands is south facing, sandy and has lifeguard cover during the season, it can have quite large waves and is frequented by surfers when the conditions are right. The main Helston - Penzance road provides good access to all modern amenities and tourist attractions from St Michaels Mount to Flambards with a wealth of pretty little bays, promontories and traditional fishing villages.
Praa Sands in the Southwest of Cornwall is located between Helston and Penzance. The town contains many facilities including a shop, pub, post office and Praa Sands Gold Club. Nearby Helston is famous for its Floral Dance in May, a day when the whole town stops and dresses up for the days many dances through the streets. From Penzance you can take the Scillonian for a day trip to the picturesque Isles of Scilly. Facilities for golf, sailing, course and sea fishing are all available within two miles. Mizpah is located at the end of a row of fishermen’s cottages accessed by a short footpath to the rear of the property from where the road runs out.
This is a traditional Cornish cottage which has been quietly upgraded by its loving owners. It is full of character with a wonderful dining room boasting a lovely old cast iron range with brass fittings and a bread oven, sadly not in use, and a flagstone floor. The cosy fireplace (coal only please) and electric central heating will keep you warm during the wild winter evenings and the lovely garden has plenty of space to enjoy during the summer, perfect for lighting the barbeque and dining al fresco. The fully fitted kitchen includes a lovely limestone floor and is a dream for any budding chef on holiday. The pretty village of St Merryn is in the centre of the peninsula that extends out to Trevose Head and is within a few miles of seven fantastic beaches. The village has a tourism motto, Seven Bays for Seven Days. Padstow, renowned for being the base for TV chef Rick Stein’s Cornish Seafood empire, is a stunning town with a wealth of pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants. Padstow is also the western end of the Camel Trail, which stretches 18 miles to the east along the Camel Valley on a largely flat disused railway line.
To the south is Mawgan Porth and the pretty village of St. Mawgan.
