Tucked away in a peaceful and secluded village setting, these five comfortably furnished holiday cottages are set in an idyllic location, only 5 miles from the spectacular Bamburgh Castle and one of the longest sandy beaches in England, and within a few minutes’ drive of Seahouses, where regular boat trips depart for the Farne Islands. Between the Cheviots and the sea, there is easy touring through the beautiful countryside with its numerous castles, stately homes and NT properties. Furnished to a high standard, and close to the owners’ home, Fordson offers single-storey accommodation and Ferguson is a detached two-storey cottage. The Mill House stands as a detached converted barn, with Waren View and The Granary Cottage forming an adjoining pair. This is an ideal choice for family holidays, with use of a very pleasant lawned area by a stream. There is also shared use of the owners’ hard tennis court nearby.
Warenford Village serves as an excellent base from which to discover Northumberland and the Scottish border country. Just 4 miles distant lies Budle Bay, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as well as an SSSI, with the ancient walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed (15 miles) and the Duchess of Northumberland’s ornamental gardens a short drive away. Created to rival the best in Europe, the gardens are contemporary in design and include waterfalls and cascading plumes set within landscaped grounds with themed planted areas. Also sure to delight both young and old alike is a visit to neighbouring Alnwick Castle, which served as the location for the Harry Potter films. Home of the Percy family, it stands as the second largest inhabited castle in England after Windsor Castle, with some of its rooms open to the public and displaying a wealth of decorative and fine art.
Within easy reach, too, is Holy Island – renowned for its medieval religious heritage, priory and picturesque castle – and also known by its Anglo-Saxon name of Lindisfarne. Accessed by a paved causeway at low tide, the island is popular with bird-watchers and nature lovers, with the north-western portion of the island being maintained as a nature reserve, where terns, plovers and seals can be observed. Whilst on the island, a trip to The Museum of Island Life will reveal former living and working conditions there, and St Aidan’s Winery tempts visitors with its sweet concoction of local Lindisfarne Mead.
There are quiet country lanes for cycling and several excellent golf courses nearby, as well as a selection of shops in Belford (3 miles) and good inns and restaurants in which to enjoy a family meal locally – the nearest pub with restaurant being just 30 yards.

EnglandWelcome to TH Hollow, a beautiful single storey stable conversion in the heart of the Somerset countryside at the foot of the Quantock Hills. Completed in 2021 and finished to a high standard, there is a central open plan living/dining/kitchen which has a fabulous, vaulted ceiling, comfortable furnishings and comes well-equipped with everything you need for the perfect stay. The kitchen area has electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge while the living area has a 43” Smart TV, perfect for relaxing of an evening.
The bedrooms lead off from the central living area with the master having a king-sized bed and bedroom two having a single bed. The large wet room has non-slip flooring, heated towel rail and shower. From bedroom two you have direct access to the Gym with cross trainer, Sauna and further shower room. Ease of access here has been carefully considered, with ramps leading in from both the front and rear entrances as well as wider doors inside, making this wonderful holiday home suitable for all abilities. To the rear is a large, enclosed courtyard with garden furniture (through access may occasionally be required by the gardener for grounds maintenance) and access from here to the utility area with washing machine and bike store.
TH Hollow also has exclusive use of the owner’s fantastic hot tub, covered heated swimming pool and tennis court at pre-arranged times (9am -1pm unless otherwise agreed with owner). Please note that the swimming pool is available from late-April until Mid-October. Your four-legged family members are welcome here also and have use of the owners fenced dog walking paddock, the perfect spot to soak up the views while your dogs run off some energy!
Set just outside of the village of Bishops Lydeard, with its village pubs and local store as well as access to the brilliant West Somerset Steam Railway, a great way to see not just the countryside but also the coast while you chug merrily along to Minehead. Alight here and spend the day exploring the shops, restaurants and beach. The county town of Taunton is easily reachable within 15 minutes or head over to Exmoor and explore the wonderful villages, walk over the moors and have a cream tea in one of the many tea shops on route. Bude, EnglandOne of a kind, Riverside is a spacious, detached house which has been fully adapted for disabled use and is wheelchair-friendly. With a stylish interior design and a light, bright and airy feel, this property would really suit people of all ages and needs. The property boasts a fabulous hydrotherapy, indoor heated swimming pool with Jacuzzi and hoist, which lifts from ground level into the pool. There are also patio doors which lead out onto the decked terrace with a large outdoor table and bench seating.
There is a wheelchair lift in the hallway, taking you from the ground floor bedroom level down to the lower ground floor. The kitchen has been specially adapted, with some low level work surfaces and easily accessible sockets and light switches. All on one level, the accommodation is all on the ground floor with full wheelchair access, wide doors and walk-in bath. The living area is open plan with a modern well equipped kitchen, a dining area as well as two sofas in front of the large Smart TV. One of the sofas is a high quality sofa bed which can be used by two additional guests on request. There is a double bedroom as well as a twin bedroom, both have wardrobes and TVs. The bathroom has a walk-in bath, with a glass door enabling you to step into the bath easily with a rainforest shower over.
The holiday park is well equipped to entertain and delight guests all year round. With a heated indoor swimming pool, which has public sessions as well as private bookable sessions so you can have the luxury of having the entire pool to yourselves. There is also a gym, sauna and hot tub, for guests use. The family bar is spacious and has entertainment on certain nights throughout the week, as well as showcasing Sky Sports. There is a great beer garden looking out onto the children’s play area, as well as a pool table, making this a fun social space for everyone. The bar serves food so you can treat yourself if you fancy a night off from cooking. This is a great destination for dogs, on-site the bar is dog friendly and there is a dog walking trail through the holiday park and along the edge of the neighbouring woods. Most of the beaches nearby are dog friendly or have dog friendly sections, with some fabulous walking trails in the Wolds as well as the National Park including Dalby Forest.
The site is just 8 miles from the centre of Filey which has a wonderful stretch of beach that goes for over 5 miles down the coast. The seaside town of Filey has been visited for generations by lots of families attracted by the beach and the traditional seaside resort. The cobble landing leads down to the Filey Brigg where you see many children rock pooling. On the clifftops is the end of the Cleveland Way walk, with many a weary walker sitting on the clifftops after completing the walk. The walks among the clifftops are stunning and some of the best available down the East Coast. To the south you have the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, and you’ll see all the migrating birds from puffins to guillemots and kittiwakes. The seaside resorts of Scarborough, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away.
Scarborough has two glorious beaches with a castle on the cliff top in-between, you also have the oriental gardens at Peasolm park, the Sealife Centre and one of Europe’s largest open air theatres which a great line up during the summer months. The medieval City of York is less than an hour away and is voted every year as being one of the top ten cities to visit. Try not to miss it during your stay as you will not be disappointed. A wonderful old walled city with lots of independent shops, cafés and street entertainers as well as the majestic Minster standing proud overlooking the city.
