Brongwyn Cottages range in size, accommodating anywhere from 4 to 6 guests each, and together, they can welcome up to 35 guests.

These wonderfully converted farm buildings originally formed part of the grounds of Dolgoy Farm, a Gentleman’s Estate believed to have originated around 400 years ago and in its heyday was in excess of 200 acres. These charming holiday homes are positioned in a row and are nestled within the grounds of the owners’ 35-acre small-holding, amidst the peaceful sounds of rural life and just 2 miles from the coast. Each property overlooks a lovely pond, home to ducks and other wildlife.

Aptly named Galleri (ref UK31147) features a gallery with a reclining chair overlooking the living area. It has a seating area to the front looking across to the pond and a sunken garden with a private Jacuzzi hot tub to the rear, from which you can enjoy the tranquillity of Dolgoy, catch the sun or enjoy the starry skies.

Snuggle Cottage (ref PA2), one of a row, is a cosy, beamed stone cottage for two, with an open sitting area to the front of the cottage from which you can enjoy its tranquil surroundings as well as a pretty, private patio garden to the rear, with its own private hot tub, which catches the sun throughout the day.

Ponycob Cottage (ref PA6) is named after the Welsh name for pony; the larger Welsh cob, known for its hardiness and good temperament, historically used on the farm. This lovingly restored, semi-detached stone conversion features characterful beams, a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub, and open seat area to the front within a truly peaceful setting.

The Coach House Loft (ref 30160) is set on the first floor and has been sympathetically created within the Coach House, also boasting a private patio garden with its own Jacuzzi hot tub.

The owners, who live adjacent to the properties, have lovingly renovated the buildings, and preserved their features and history whilst providing contemporary amenities and comfort. There is even a fenced-in exercise field with a picnic bench, where guests are able to exercise their dogs freely. Beach 2½ miles. Shop ¾ mile, pub, and restaurant 2 miles.

These 3 beautiful and spacious barn conversions are set on a working sheep and beef farm, and each property has its own private hot tub. The farm itself has 140 acres, and the farmland links up to the Ystwyth Cycle Trail which is over 16 miles long. The interiors of the properties have vaulted ceilings, modern lighting, and furnished with leather sofas and wood-burning stoves, each with a hot tub available. All 3 properties (refs OA5, OA6 and OA7) can be booked together to form one large house sleeping 12, and they all have interconnecting doors which can be opened up. There is also the option of taking a horse on holiday, the farm has 6 loose boxes and a paddock which can be made available. Located near Tregaron, a small Welsh-speaking market town where guests can visit the famous Rhiannon Welsh Gold Centre that offers beautiful gifts and a fantastic art gallery. Tregaron is also famous for its trotting races, which are actually held here at Dolyrychain Farm (please check with owners for dates). The event is the largest of its kind and attracts over 10,000 visitors. This is a haven for walkers and cyclists with the Cambrian Mountains at the foot of the farm and the panoramic Pumlumon Mountains to the north. Visit the university town of Aberystwyth, home of the National Library of Wales, take a walk on the promenade or even catch the electric cliff railway on Construction Hill. For a magical day out take the narrow gauge railway from Aberystwyth to the heart of the Pumlumon Mountains where the destination will be the world famous Devils Bridge and Rheidol Falls. This beautiful single-storey barn conversion is set in a tranquil rural location and makes an ideal holiday base from which to discover this scenic part of Wales. The property has an attractive walled garden as well as a fenced paddock with picnic bench, where guests can exercise their dogs. From Yr Hen Stabl, you can directly access a footpath circumnavigating Cors Caron Nature Reserve, whilst bridleways, the Ystwyth Trail and other Sustrans routes are in the immediate vicinity. Nearby are the wonderful Cambrian Mountains, Strata Florida, Devil’s Bridge, Cwm Rheidol and the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway. The National Trust properties Llanerchaeron, Dinefawr Park and the Dolaucothi Gold Mines are a short drive away. Wonderful scenic walks can be undertaken at the Elan Valley, Llyn Brianne and Bwlch yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre - which also features several mountain bike trails. Bird watchers can easily visit local RSPB reserves at Ynys Hir and Dinas. The stunning Ceredigion Heritage Coast, with beautiful beaches and coastal footpath can be reached in 30 minutes. A similar distance away is the resort and university town of Aberystwyth, home to the National Library of Wales, the University Arts Centre, cinemas, museums, the cliff railway, promenade and pier. Yr Hen Stabl is situated on Fullbrook, a working sheep farm overlooking Cors Caron. Most amenities, including banks, groceries, chemists, newsagents, pubs, takeaways and restaurants can be found in Tregaron which is just 2 miles away and also home to the Red Kite Centre. After a busy day’s exploring all that the area has to offer, Yr Hen Stabl provides the perfect place to relax with its cosy wood-burning stove and delightful garden.

Bwlch Y Person Barns are beautiful conversions of traditions Welsh long barns. Located in a tranquil setting surrounded by rolling countryside, these wonderful properties boast character, charm and all the comforts for the perfect countryside holiday with a resident barn owl in the grounds. Close to the borders of both mid and south Wales, these very comfortable properties provide perfect holiday accommodation. The four cottages, Cartws (ref OH3), Stabl (ref OH4), Beudy Bach(ref OH5) and Beudy (OH2) form a right angle shape with parking in front, with lovely views across the countryside and all have their own terraces with furniture. Families will appreciate the separate recreational area with football posts and nets, picnic bench and table set away from the cottages. For added enjoyment, all four cottages feature their own private hot tubs in their enclosed patios.
All are ideally placed for exploring the dramatic and truly scenic Ceredigion coastline. The picturesque and colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is only 6 miles away where there is a selection of interesting independent shops and a great choice of restaurants and eateries including, fish and chips, ice cream parlour and fine dining. The National Trust house and gardens of Llanerchaeron are 4 miles away and from here there’s a delightful level pedestrian country footpath, suitable for bikes, pushchairs or wheelchairs, which leads into Aberaeron. Pretty New Quay with boats bobbing about in the harbour is just a few miles further on, and is definitely worth a visit. You must look out for the resident pods of bottlenose dolphins seen in the bay on an almost daily basis! Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Away from the coast, Ceredigion’s countryside is just as promising, with an array of charming market towns and historic castles dotted around the county. For an adventurous day out, take a short drive to the rugged Cambrian Mountains and explore the Cors Caron Nature Reserve, which flourishes with wildlife and the historic ruins of Strata Florida Abbey, which is one of Wales’ most important historical sites. Situated just 5 minutes from Cardigan Bay and within easy reach to the whole of the beautiful Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coastline and coastal walks, The Stables is a detached, converted stone holiday cottage peacefully set on a farm with a selection of alpacas, donkeys, goats, ducks and chickens. The owners who live on the farm, which is set in 48 acres of rolling countryside, encourage the children to interact with the animals, and are also pleased to offer the use of a barbecue hut nicknamed the ‘Hobbit House’ by the family. Guests can hire it during their stay directly with the owners, subject to availability and for a small charge. There is bike storage in the barn if you would like to bring your own bikes.
Within a 15-minute drive visitors can discover quaint New Quay, famous for the bottlenose dolphins that can often be seen from the harbour (boat trips available in season). The colourful, Georgian, harbour town of Aberaeron is just a bit further up the coast road, with its chic shops and plenty of restaurants. Antique shoppers and browsers will enjoy the nearby market town of Newcastle Emlyn, and Cenarth with its waterfalls is also close by and offers indoor swimming, coracle rides, fishing and paintballing. There are numerous attractions in the area, particularly suitable for children.
Nearby is the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, which is set on a headland overlooking the nature reserve of Cardigan Island, home to thousands of sea birds. At the foot of the cliffs, a colony of Atlantic grey seals can be observed in their natural habitat. Spectacular coastline and wonderful views can be savoured from the National Trust managed Penbryn Bay and a visit to National Trust Cilgerran Castle can also be enjoyed. Only the ruins remain of this striking 13th-century castle, whose vantage point overlooks the wonderful Teifi Gorge. Also nearby is the town of Cardigan with its restored medieval castle. The Teifi Valley Railway is another experience for the visitor, a 2-mile journey offers wonderful views of the valley and countryside. Golf and horse riding can also be found locally. Beach 3½ miles. Brynhoreb is a delightful, cosy cottage in a tranquil rural setting and yet only three miles from Aberystwyth and the wonderful coastline of Ceredigion. The garden raised up behind the cottage takes full advantage of the stunning vista. Whether you are sitting in the comfortable summer house, on the decked terrace created to look like a pirate ship, or relaxing in the bubbling hot tub, you can glimpse the sea across the rolling countryside. There is even an information pack provided in the cottage, perfect for those wanting to explore the surrounding area.
Apart from its sweeping promenade and pier, Aberystwyth has the famous Constitution Hill, the Victorian equivalent of a modern day theme park, rising dramatically from the sea, providing spectacular and uninterrupted views of the town, Cardigan Bay, and on a clear day, 26 mountain peaks spanning much of the length of Wales. This majestic panorama can be reached by train on the longest funicular electric cliff railway in Britain, which has been transporting visitors to the summit since opening in 1896. Aberystwyth is also the starting point for the Vale of Rheidol steam railway to Devils Bridge and a huge tumbling waterfall and gorge; a scenic journey well worth taking. Aberystwyth is much more than a seaside town. It is surrounded on three sides by some of the most glorious countryside in the UK. Apart from the wonderful Ceredigion Heritage Coast, there are the mountains of Pumlumon to the north-east, where the sources of both the Severn and the Wye are to be found. Pumlumon is part of the Cambrian Mountain Range, the last refuge of the Red Kite in Britain, until a few years ago when a management and protection scheme was started. Now you will frequently see them soaring above the hills and hear their distinctive cry. The visitor attraction of the Red Kite Feeding Station is just nine miles away, close to the Silver Mountain Mining Experience, another great attraction for families.
Other interesting places to visit in the area and within easy reach from Brynhoreb is the impressive sand dune system of the Ynyslas National Nature Reserve, which jut out halfway across the mouth of the Dovey Estuary; the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron and the pretty resort of New Quay that once inspired poet Dylan Thomas, and where Bottlenose dolphins can often been seen from the harbour. The whole area is a haven for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts and lovers of golden sandy beaches, many of them dog friendly year round.
