Historic Conwy is just a few minutes by car and offers the mighty Edward I Conwy Castle and town walls (A World Heritage Site), Aberconwy House, Conwy Suspension Bridge (NT), Plas Mawr (Cadw), a wealth of quirky individual shops, and the quay where fresh fish is landed daily. The golf club is also in central Betws-y-Coed and welcomes visitors.
    There are many scenic walks to explore, along rivers and waterfalls, Llyn (lake) Elsi sits above Betws Y Coed and is well worth the hike up. Just down the valley from Betws-y-Coed is the famous Marin Bike Trails, with colour-coded routes suitable for all abilities. Just up the road from here is Llyn Geirionydd (Geirionydd Lake) which is a wonderful spot for a day out where you can take a swim, or use your paddle boards and kayaks, and there are picnic benches available, as well as free parking and toilets here.
