You can either relax at the property in the hot tub or large garden or explore the many things to see and do in the surrounding area. You can also enjoy a game of pool in the utility room which has a pool table and seating along with the washing machine, tumble dryer and Belfast sink. The kitchen has a warming Aga, and steps lead down to a breakfast area with a dining table and seating for eight guests. The larger, formal dining room has a dining table and seating for 12-14 guests.
This elegant, detached house is ideal for groups, families or couples and blends character with every day modern day comforts. It is perfectly positioned to explore the Norfolk Broads National Park and Norfolk’s amazing coastline with sandy beaches and RSPB bird reserves. Neighbouring the owners’ working arable farm (not accessible to guests) it is privately surrounded by its own large garden.
It has nearby links to public footpaths and bridleways, including Weavers Way, winding 61 miles through the North Norfolk countryside. Another way to enjoy the area is on horseback; there is a equestrian centre nearby (within ½ mile) where you can hire a horse for the day, or you can even house your own horse, with a variety of livery options available. The centre is registered with Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) charity. There are tremendous circular cycling routes via Dilham Canal and a wealth of opportunities for walking direct from the doorstep, so do remember to pack your walking boots. For anglers, there is carp fishing within ½ mile.
The market town of North Walsham, 6 miles, has a good selection of shops, supermarkets, bank, a weekly market, bowling alley, leisure centre with swimming pool, restaurants, and cafés. Worstead church is a superb 14th-century building, full of historic and architectural interest. Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads is 6½ miles for daily boat hire and river trips, waterside restaurants, cafés and shops. It also has a train station with links to Norwich city, 13 miles, for excellent shopping centres, theatre, market, castle museum, cathedral, cafés and restaurants, and coast and Bure Valley Steam Railway; a nostalgic 18-mile trip by steam on Norfolk’s longest narrow gauge railway which runs between the historic market towns of Aylsham and Wroxham, with wayside halts serving the picturesque Broadland villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall, where you can hop off and on to explore by foot. The popular seaside town of Cromer, 15 miles, has a beach, promenade gardens, pier, shops, cafés and restaurants. There are sandy beaches at Happisburgh, Mundesley and Bacton within 20 minutes’ drive. Felbrigg and Blickling Halls (National Trust), and Sheringham Park are all within a 30-minute drive. A must for families is BeWILDerwood at Horning, a tree top adventure woodland, 7 miles and Dinosaur Park at Weston Park, 19 miles. Beach 8 miles. Pub 1 mile, shop 5 miles and restaurant 4 miles.

With panoramic views along the beautiful Cornish coastline and down into St Austell Bay, this detached holiday home is set in an acre of landscaped gardens, approximately 300 yards up from the secluded sandy cove of Porthpean, where visitors can paddle, swim or hire a kayak and explore the coastline from the water. This large, spacious house has everything in it or nearby for a perfect, quintessential Cornish holiday, including coastal walks, golden beaches, quaint fishing villages such as Mevagissey, where a ferry can be taken to Fowey and National Trust gardens and houses aplenty. The amazing Eden Project and the fascinating Lost Gardens of Heligan are both close by. The area is full of natural and man made attractions that make this a choice destination for all the family or groups of friends, with many farm shops selling local produce for that special meal. A golf course that overlooks the bay is a short walk along the lane and an off-road cycle and walking trail through ancient woodland is nearby. Fowey, with its beautiful estuary, Royal Yacht Club, narrow lanes and historic buildings is a must. Meander along its narrow streets and browse many local shops, galleries and crafts shops whilst planning lunch in cafés and restaurants that overlook the estuary and out to sea. Activities include deep sea fishing, river kayaking, sailing and walking. For a more leisurely affair, a local hotel just minutes from the house has an impressive spa and indoor infinity pool for a day of pampering and relaxation. The dramatic north coast is within easy reach, where visitors can surf, watch the waves or visit many of the pretty harbour villages, such as Padstow, Port Isaac or St Ives, all essential ports of call for visitors to Cornwall. Built in 1875, Hamilton Lodge is a Victorian house featuring its own elegant turret. Each room has been designed to have a different theme from a classic antique feel to modern contemporary.
The Lodge is built over three floors with loads of space for between 12 and 15 guests, not counting babies and dogs. Many original features have been maintained, including the lead glass in the entrance hall which has been used as a colour scheme for the interior design. Breathtakingly high ceilings with beautiful chandeliers crown the reception rooms.
The large sitting room is spacious and has comfortable seating to allow all guests to come together for movie nights, whilst the elegant library allows for some quiet space. The large open plan living space at the back of the house is ideal for socialising, cooking, dining and just chilling and chatting. The sliding doors open out onto the garden to create a large space for entertaining.
On the upper floors, Hamilton Lodge has six bedrooms. Bedroom 1 boasting a rocking chair in the turret, and a chaise longue. The three bathrooms all have under floor heating and allow ample space and convenience for all guests. There are side sea views from some of the bedrooms, as the sea is just a few yards away.

Westgate on Sea is a friendly seaside town which boasts a wide sandy beach, local shops and cafes and a lovely old-fashioned independent cinema.
There is a well known path called the Viking Trail which passes through Westgate on Sea and offers a lovely coastal foot and cycle path from Reculver to Ramsgate. Margate is about a 20-minute coastal walk, or is a short five-minute drive, or train ride.

Keen cyclists can also recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 including the iconic Holme Moss which is literally a stone’s throw away. Holmfirth is around 3 miles from the cottage, and anyone familiar with the TV comedy ’Last of the Summer Wine’ may recognise the area as the backdrop from this. In Holmfirth you’ll find a wide selection of cafés, bars, pubs and restaurants to suit the majority of tastes, together with a century old picture house and live music venue, and also a vineyard. Huddersfield is around 8 miles away and home to the UK’s first eco-spa, and a whole host of Peak District towns, villages and attractions are within easy reach to explore.

This large sandstone 17th-century holiday cottage stands detached on the banks of the River Severn with stunning views of the Severn Valley from both the house and the delightful lawned garden. It is located just 50 yards from Highley station and the Engine House Museum on the Severn Valley Railway, with steam trains running past the rear of the cottage. Journey from Marylebone station and change at Kidderminster to complete the fabulous journey by steam train. It is a perfect location for exploring the beautiful Severn Valley with its many footpaths, bridleways and river walks, with the famous Severn Way passing directly in front of the cottage and a country park just 50 yards away. This famous stretch of Stanley Water on the River Severn is one of the most prolific for barbel fishing in the country, producing barbel to 17lb on the BAA stretch of water outside the cottage. There are also two day ticket stretches at £6 per day, and lots of local carp fishing lakes. The Astbury 18-hole, award-winning golf course is a 5-minute drive away. The West Midlands Safari Park is a 15-minute drive away, and this property makes an excellent base for visiting Bridgnorth, Bewdley, Ludlow, Worcester, Ironbridge, Wenlock Edge and the Long Mynd, all within an hour’s drive.
