The properties are located just 600 yards from the lake and are accessed along a quiet country lane. Loweswater is one of the smallest lakes in the Lake District with the village of Loweswater being set on the banks of the lake itself. Nestled in a wooded valley in The Vale of Lorton, it is the first link in a chain of lakes including Crummock Water and Buttermere. If you like to explore and enjoy walking, hiking, climbing or cycling, you have a vast expanse of natural Lakeland scenery to explore, including many of the 214 Wainwright peaks within easy reach. Some of the lower fells include Low Fell, Blake Fell and Gravel Fell to the west, with Mellbreak to the south and to the east. There are some more challenging routes around Grasmoor at 2,795ft. A trip to this part of the world wouldn’t be complete without visiting St Bees Head and the long sandy beaches. St Bees is also the starting point of Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk and has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you’ve come on holiday for walking, climbing and to explore the Lakeland Fells, you won’t be disappointed. A 5-mile drive and you will reach the Lake District National Park where you have an abundance of walks, cycle routes, wildlife, mountains and lakes. Your nearest lake is Ennerdale Water, 6 miles, which is widely regarded as one of the most unspoilt areas of the Lake District and is teaming with wildlife, including indigenous red squirrels, osprey and buzzards. If that’s not enough, Loweswater, 13 miles, which leads to Crummock Water and then Buttermere, which is well worth a visit. The scenery around this unspoilt part of the Lakes is stunning and the panoramic views are a sight to behold. Shore Meadow is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Set just 150 yards from a beautiful, secluded sandy beach and enjoying an idyllic position in this tranquil, south-western corner of the Lakes where the mountains almost meet the sea.
