There is a horse riding centre 3½ miles away with hill and beach riding available for all ages and abilities. Sea fishing from the beach at Silecroft is only 4½ miles to the north. Muncaster Castle with its gardens and Bird of Prey Centre or a trip on Ravenglass Steam train (dogs welcome) into the heart of the Lake District make good days out. There is something for everyone to discover in this little known corner of Cumbria. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 110 yards.

It is 4 miles from the lovely town of Cockermouth where there are lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs. The popular town of Keswick is 20 minutes drive.
