Cannondale has been fully refurbished in 2019 to provide a comfortable and stylish haven, four bedrooms with a super kingsize bed (two with zip and link option to be made up into twin bedrooms), all with their own en-suite. One of the bedrooms is found on the ground floor, the ideal option for the less mobile. The large living room offers a generous space and comfort, with a cosy wood burner, large TV and French doors leading out onto the enclosed garden and patio. There is also a spacious open plan kitchen/dining room with French doors also leading out into the garden. There is comfortable space for eight to live and dine together, whilst offering privacy and freedom for everybody in each bedroom.

Situated inbetween Windermere and Bowness, you are just a short walk from either, ideal for enjoying the local shops and eateries or to experience a trip out on Lake Windermere. The property is also ideally located within an easy drive or cycle to one of the many hundreds of walking routes or excursions that are enjoyed in the south Lakes and the Lake District on a daily basis. Set within a small hamlet of similar converted properties, this charming, detached barn conversion sits in a large enclosed garden with open views over the surrounding countryside. Once inside, you will find the spacious living/dining room is furnished with comfortable seating centred around the inviting wood burner, whilst the adjoining sun room is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and watch the local wildlife go by. This traditional market town is brimming with things to discover and has lots of little streets and courtyards. For family fun visit Puzzling Place, a mind boggling attraction based on optical illusions, ½ mile, or take a trip to Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the largest pencil in the world, ¾ mile. If you enjoy culture, The Theatre By The lake offers a stunning Lakeside location, or you can take a rowing boat out on Derwentwater, ¾ mile. If you like outdoor adventure including walking, cycling and climbing, you are surrounded by some amazing scenery and routes around Latrgigg and Catbells, and nearby you’ll find Skiddaw, Blencathra and Helvellyn to name a few. Set 300 yards from the charming village of Staveley, these two lovely properties, Staveley Park (ref UK33713) and Staveley Park Studio (ref UK33716), are at the foot of the Kentmere Valley, between Kendal and Windermere. Both have been expertly renovated in 2021.

Staveley Park is a detached, Grade II listed property, set in its own grounds and offering spectacular views of the nearby woods, fells and countryside. The kitchen is well-equipped and comes with everything you need for a great holiday. There is also a handy utility area, fully equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside you’ll find an amazing, private garden and a terrace with garden furniture. You can enjoy the sunshine in the morning with a coffee or some al fresco dining with a glass of wine while enjoying the fresh air and views of the grounds. The garden is fully enclosed by a stone wall/hedges and there are three gates, all of them wooden farm gates, which can be kept shut. There are numerous easy and more strenuous walks possible from the front door.

Staveley is a lovely, working and historic village with a celebrated gastro-pub and the Hawkshead Brewery, with good food available in both as well as in the much-loved café and the fish and chip shop. There is a grocer, a butcher, an award-winning baker and pizzeria, an artisan ice cream maker, a coffee roaster, a cycle super-store, a garage, a railway station and more. Here the River Gowan flows through the village and meets the River Kent, which provides a peaceful backdrop to the main street. Staveley is located just 12 miles off the M6, 4.5 miles from Kendal and 3.5 miles to Windermere and the popular tourist magnet of Bowness-on Windermere, offering a wide range of restaurants and gastropubs serving every possible type of cuisine you could want, from takeaway food to fine dining. You’ll find there an abundance of bars and pubs offering locally produced ales, cocktails and guest craft beers. Here you can take the Windermere steamers to Lakeside at the Southern point of the Lake and Ambleside in the North. You’ll also find several popular tourist attractions including The Beatrix Potter Attraction, which is great fun, or Brockhole where older children can enjoy a treetop safari on the high ropes. In Kendal you’ll find more of the major high street brands and supermarkets. It is itself a lovely market town and excellent for a day of sightseeing and shopping. If you love the outdoors, you’ll find wonderful walks from your doorstep, and a short drive will open up the best the Lake District National Park has to offer with an abundance of picturesque mountain landscapes along with some of the most stunning scenery, arguably, anywhere in the country.

Brook House 1 is a beautiful 17th century, beamed cottage overlooking a stream, with a wood burner, its own enclosed garden and just a couple of minutes’ stroll to the pub serving food and local ales. There is a fitted open plan kitchen/dining room well equipped for a family holiday. There is a spacious living room with a wood burner and a ground floor wet room. On the first floor there are four bedrooms, with the master benefiting from an en-suite, the other bedrooms are serviced by an additional bath/shower room with toilet. Three of the bedrooms overlook the stream where the puddle ducks swim and waddle to and fro. Outside the property has an enclosed walled garden with garden furniture.
Brook House Holiday Cottages are located in the heart of Bassenthwaite village in the northern region of The Lake District National Park, Cumbria, approximately 15-minute drive from the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth. This is an excellent base to explore some of the quieter corners of the Lake District. Bassenthwaite village is 2 miles from the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake (an ideal walk to the only official lake in the Lake District) and 2 miles from the foot of Skiddaw, the fourth highest mountain in the Lake District. There are excellent walks for all abilities straight from the cottage door or after a short drive away.
The Lake District Wildlife Park is just a 5-minute drive from the cottage, while Mirehouse historic house and adventure playgrounds is under 10 minutes drive towards Keswick.
The Lakes Distillery is under 10 minutes drive towards Cockermouth offering guided tours, or for those wanting to treat themselves with some pampering, there is a spa just 5 minutes drive from the cottage. Keswick is a magnet for the Lake District visitor with Lake Derwentwater, several parks including crazy golf, mini golf and putting, all its outdoor shops, cafés, restaurants, galleries, museum, cinema, theatre, brewery and more. Cockermouth has a visitor centre, antique shops, Jennings Brewery, Wordsworth House (the birthplace of the poet William Wordsworth), the annual food festival in September and a good selection of unique independent shops and eateries. Nearest shops in Keswick or Cockermouth, 15 minutes drive or many supermarkets do on-line deliveries, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
