    Bannerrigg (’sister property’ to Alice Howe and Boston House) a Grade II listed property, was designed by Augustus (AWN) Pugin (1812 - 1852), arguably the greatest British architect, designer and writer of the 19th Century whose name is synonymous with the interior of The House of Lords and the Palace of Westminster. The houses on the terrace were designed as holiday homes for the railway executives each one having unique character. The historic nature of this spacious property is reflected in the style and quality of the decor, furnishings and accessories. If you are looking for a big house in the Lake District for a family holiday or short break with a group of friends, Bannerrigg is the ideal choice.
    Outside there’s a new large slate patio. An 8 seat hot tub has been installed in it’s own building in the garden, the perfect place to unwind after a hard day on the hills! The parking area has been extended to fit 5 cars (in fact if you are prepared to park each other in, there’s room for 7 cars). Bannerrigg has 5 bedrooms, two triple rooms, two rooms with four beds and a twin room. Bannerrigg’s cellar is home to a fantastic 18 seat cinema, fitted with a 75" Smart TV. Logon to your Netflix or Amazon Prime account and go to the movies on your holiday. It has a spacious elegant living room with an open fire, leather settees and chairs to seat 16 people. The large dining room has large windows on two sides which gives it a tremendous amount of natural light. It also has a large dining table with 16 padded chairs, the ideal place to while away an evening. The house is an ideal base for the larger party and with the train and bus station literally around the corner, it’s easily accessible for those members of your group that are travelling from far and wide. The house is easily accessible, only 5 minutes drive from the M6 in the village of Tirril, and lies only 3 miles from Ullswater and Pooley Bridge and 3 miles from Penrith. The pub in Tirril is within easy walking distance and provides a restaurant and small shop. Bar meals are served throughout the day. A mile away in Yanwath is another pub restaurant renowned for its cuisine.
    Tirril Lodge sits in spacious grounds with views over open countryside to both the front and rear. Activities available locally include pony trekking at Sockbridge and a variety of water sports on Ullswater, including sailing instruction, as well as some of the best fell walking in the Lake District. The house is ideally situated for exploring both the northern and southern lakes and fells. Situated just 2½ miles from the beautiful scenery of Ullswater, you can enjoy a trip around the lake on a steamer and visit the impressive waterfall at Aira Force. A spectacular journey along the shores of Ullswater and over the Kirkstone Pass takes you to Lake Windermere. At the head of Derwentwater and 15 miles from Sockbridge, lies the town of Keswick with its lovely parks and selection of coffee, gift and outdoor shops.

This delightful village near to the Eskdale and Wasdale valleys offers an excellent shop and several pubs. From here you have easy access to some of most picturesque and dramatic scenery this Cumbrian hotspot has to offer. The highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike, is a short drive through the countryside with beautiful lakes and walking routes nearby. Drigg beach and sand dunes are about a mile away, and you have an excellent links golf course at Seascale, just walking distance from Holme Croft.
    Muncaster Castle is a 10-minute drive where you can tour the haunted castle, take in the birds of prey show, and enjoy the stunning gardens. Take a ride on La’al Ratty, a narrow-gauge steam railway from Dalegarth to Boot, or you can enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and gyhll scrambling with West Lakes Adventure. Whether you’re looking for scenery, adventure, climbing or just lazy days, The Seaside House at Holme Croft is a great starting point!
