The seaside town of Bridlington is only a few minutes’ drive away where you can enjoy a stroll along the sandy beaches or experience all the fun of a traditional promenade and harbour. A little further along the coast are the dramatic cliffs at Flamborough Head and the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs - a bird watcher’s paradise! For a day out why not visit the stately homes of Sledmere Hall and Burton Agnes? With the historic city of York also under an hour’s drive away, you will not be short of places to visit.     Grade II Listed, Baker’s Cottage dates back to the 17th century and sits in the heart of the pretty village of Hotham near to Beverley, Market Weighton and Pocklington, the gateway to the Yorkshire Wolds. It’s a perfect base for families or a group of friends. The cottage can sleep up to six people and retains many of its original features. It’s ideally placed to explore the network of beautiful walks and miles of cycle routes.
    The spacious hall with an original York stone flagged floor leads you to the large country-style kitchen/dining area, offering lovely views across the garden. There’s an abundance of restaurants in Beverley to meet every taste. Both Hull and York are within a short drive, where you can explore many museums, theatres and centuries of history. For those of you who enjoy horse racing, Beverley and York have excellent courses providing flat racing. The North Cave Wetlands Nature Reserve is only a mile away and is a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust site with a fantastic array of wetland and migrating birds, as well as lots of other wildlife.

    Christine Cottage is perfect as a base for visiting the North York Moors National Park, the Yorkshire Wolds and the beautiful east coast. Renovated to a good standard yet retaining lots of original features, the cottage provides comfortable accommodation with a bath/shower room for every bedroom making this a great choice for couples as well as families.
    The cottage is tucked away in a quiet courtyard near the church in Flamborough, with the owner living just around the corner. This detached property is centrally located for the shops, bars and restaurants with the beach in walking distance. Flamborough Head lies between Bridlington and Filey and is a bird watchers paradise. Every year birds travel in their thousands to Flamborough and you will see the interesting array of seabirds that cling to the chalk cliffs. People travel from all over the world to see the wonderful puffins and the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is the best place to get a good view, as they provide viewing platforms along the cliff side. Flamborough is a traditional fishing village and although some fishing still take place, it now relies on tourism. A lovely walk along the cliff tops brings you to Danes Dyke, a fantastic nature reserve.
    The bustling harbour of Bridlington is only a 10-minute drive away and is still a busy fishing harbour. This traditional seaside resort offers donkey rides, a pirate ship and of course sandcastles and candy floss. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
