Within a 5-minute drive, visit the popular tourist resort of Sandown, with seaside entertainment including amusements, Tiger Island Zoo, putting, crazy golf, pier leisure centre and waterside dining in one of the many restaurants and cafés. Shanklin is also within easy reach, with the magical Chine, and quaint thatched roofed tea rooms, houses and shops. Clarendon House is a spacious and bright five bedroom family home located in the charming village of Shanklin. Whether you want to dream your days away on the sandy beach or explore the many attractions on the island, this will be the perfect base.

Inside, the house has been beautifully furnished in a traditional style, enhancing the house’s beautiful period features. Downstairs you’ll find an incredibly spacious living area finished with leather sofas and large feature windows looking out into the garden. When you feel like cooking up a storm, the farmhouse style kitchen is equipped with all the necessary mod cons. Upstairs, the five bedrooms provide the perfect places to rest your weary head after a busy day.

On a warm day, you can step out into the patio and garden area and enjoy the sunshine is blissful peace and quiet. Complete with patio table and chairs and a picnic bench, this is the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a bite to eat or a glass of wine.

Clarendon House is located just a short stroll from Shanklin Old Village, famous for its thatched cottages, quirky gift shops and traditional tea rooms. Shanklin Theatre is just a two-minute walk from the house or if you fancy a day at the seaside, Shanklin Seafront and its amusements are also nearby.

Providing spacious and well-furnished holiday accommodation for larger families or groups of friends, Rosedene really is a home away from home. This detached property, built in 2018, has four bedrooms and a family bathroom, which features a wonderful freestanding bath, on the ground floor. One of the doubles offers its own en-suite shower room and toilet, providing facilities all on the same level for less mobile guests. One of the twin rooms is also equipped with a PlayStation 4 games console for younger guests to enjoy.

On the upper level is the pièce de résistance, a strikingly spacious master bedroom which is flooded with natural light from the glass wall that extends right across the width of the room. Again, it is accompanied by its own en-suite shower room.

The garden features a patio area, ideal for sitting out, relaxing on the garden furniture and soaking up the great weather the Isle of Wight provides. The garden is ideal for the children to play out and stay entertained. Off road parking is provided for up to five cars, and the garage within the grounds can also be used to store bicycles.

The island has become a real hot spot for cycling enthusiasts, with a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level, purpose-made tracks running along its former railway lines. Cycle to the famous Needles landmark at Alum Bay, with its coloured sand cliffs and chairlift to the beach, or take on the full round the island route which is 66 miles long, and is used for the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee. Travel along the route at a more leisurely pace, and along the way you will find numerous restaurants, pubs and cafés serving tasty local produce amongst the quaint villages and towns.

Colwell Bay has a reputation as being one of the cleanest beaches on the Isle of Wight and is also one of the most popular too. If you are keen to try water sports during your stay, this is the place to get started. The pretty promenade stretches all the way along to neighbouring Totland Bay, and it makes the perfect place for a stroll as the sun begins to fade in the distance. One of the biggest draws of Colwell Bay is its beachside café/restaurant, which welcomes visitors into the shade where they can enjoy hot food and drink with a view of the sea.

Outdoor pursuits on the island are well catered for and include horse riding, fishing, cycling, paragliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages. Visit Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and its gardens, Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes. Solent View is a wonderful three-bedroom holiday home with the extra bonus of a cabin in the back garden which can sleep an extra four guests. The main house is a great size. It has two double bedrooms and a bunk room. Downstairs has a large living/dining room and a lovely big kitchen with all of the appliances you will need. Another extra bonus is a large integral garage where you can store your bikes, kayaks or paddle boards. Here you will also find the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Seaview is a popular choice and has a reputation as an Edwardian resort built on its panoramic sea views and great sandy beaches, and these are still two of its largest assets. Many celebrities have been spotted holidaying here. A short walk and you will find Priory Beach, arguably one of the most stunning beaches on the island. There is a village shop and a few eateries can be enjoyed locally. The neighbouring Victorian town of Ryde is a short drive away, or you can walk along the revetment from the seafront. You will pass a couple of café on the way. Ryde has many shops, bars and restaurants and has brilliant transport links to go and explore the rest of this stunning island.
