Consisting of three cottages, Horseshoe Cottage (ref UKC410), Dairy Cottage (ref UKC409) and Saddler’s Cottage (ref UKC408), this is a great location for families and friends to enjoy a fun filled holiday in the Kentish country. Decorated and furnished to a good standard, all the cottages feature Wi-Fi, comfortable living accommodation and each cottage has an enclosed, private garden with patio. Saddlers Cottage and Dairy Cottage also have the additional benefit of hot tubs to enjoy all year round.
There is a vast array of walks and cycling routes around the area, guests are welcome to bring bikes and store them in the cycle storage area. Attractions in Kent include the famous city of Canterbury, boasting a stunning cathedral, dominant city walls, boutique shops, bars and restaurants. Take a ferry trip over to France from Dover to Calais, or by train from Ashford through the Channel Tunnel, and enjoy sightseeing. Dover Castle sits proudly overlooking the town and is well worth a visit. Known as the ‘Key to England’, the castle boasts 2000 years of history and includes a Roman lighthouse, Saxon church and a Norman keep. Known as the former estate keepers cottage, Salomons Country Cottage was originally built in the 17th century and has kept its traditional look following its renovations. The cottage has been lovingly restored to a high standard throughout, retaining the period features and introducing modern touches such as an Amazon Echo and Smart TVs in all bedrooms. The three beautifully appointed bedrooms sleep six guests in total, with the master bedroom indulging in extra luxury with an en-suite bathroom, complete with roll-top bath and complimentary toiletries. From the kitchen, doors lead out to your own private courtyard with dining facilities, great for spending summer evenings in the midst of nature.

Salomons Estate was built for Sir David Salomon, the first Jewish Lord Mayor of London in the 1850s by architect Decimus Burton. Set within an envious position, there are 36 acres of rolling gardens, parkland and woods surrounding you. Enjoy strolling around the estate on a sunny day following the woodland walk. This is also the perfect place for your four-legged friend too, as the park and cottage are both dog friendly. The main mansion house on the estate is keeping within its original Victorian feel and boasts glorious décor throughout. This beautiful holiday property is situated opposite the stunning Wesgate and Birchington Golf Club and is just a 6-minute walk to the golden sandy beach of West Bay beach. There is a main driveway with high double gates and space for three cars to park in a line; the second driveway has parking area for two car.
Westgate is ideally located in the centre of Thanet, surrounded by villages and towns, with so much to see and do from bars, restaurants, boutique shops to beaches, plenty of walks and plenty of parks and scenery to take in. With more than adequate travel links via bus and trains you can explore Thanet day by day easily and locally within 30 minutes maximum travel. There is a wide promenade meandering towards Margate Sands in one direction and Minnis Bay via cliff roads and promenade in the opposite direction.
A short 15-minute drive in the area can take you to Westwood Shopping area, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Reculver Towers Park. Historic Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable a little further. The Tourist Information is located next to Turners Contemporary Gallery along from Margate Main Sands with the usual holidaymaker attractions. Westgate has a good range of takeaway outlets, traditional fish and chips, Indian, Chinese, Greek, Thai, Turquish, pizzeria along with numerous good cafés. Westgate was originally a gated community and the architecture of many of the buildings reflect the Edwardian heritage. The quaint parade of shops opposite Westgate Station provides a good range: newsagents, post office and chemists, bakers, butchers, fruit and veg, national supermarket, sweet shops, hairdressers and barbers, beauty salons, bric-a-brac and local charity shops catering for all ages and tastes. The three screen Carlton Cinema offers the latest films screened in a retro style surrounding. Come and experience this traditional array of shops, cafés and more. Margate is close by, which offers Dreamland theme park and the long golden sandy beaches with arcades and bars/cafés spread out along the way. 1 dog welcome. This is a great location for exploring the iconic city of Canterbury. The space This holiday space is a brick built garden room which has been separated from the main house by fencing creating a completely self-contained area for two guests. The ample bedroom has a super kingsize bed which can be separated into twin beds. The bedroom has wardrobes with space to hang clothes and shelves. A separate wardrobe is home to an iron and ironing board and a dustpan and brush. There is a dressing table with a hairdryer and a light-up make up mirror. A full length mirror is also on the front of the wardrobe. A Smart TV on the wall opposite the bed for those days when you just want to chill out in bed is there for your enjoyment. Accessed from the bedroom via a sliding pocket door is the shower room. This has a shower, wash hand basin and WC. The mirror over the basin has lighting and there is a shaver socket on the wall. Subtle low level spotlights allow the use of the WC without the need to put the main light on and the fan which is surprisingly quiet but could still be a disturbance in the night. The main room is both the kitchen and living space.
There are two external doors - the main door accessed via a smart lock using your smart phone and a rear door with access to the patio area. The kitchen has a built in oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge with ice box. A lovely quartz worktop adds to the style. The kitchen has a Nespresso machine as well as the normal kettle and toaster along with cutlery and crockery and cooking pans etc. The living space has a sofa and chair and smart TV, and there is also a dining table with 2 chairs. The outside patio area, perfect for taking in the evening rays of sun has both a table with chairs and parasol as well as a rattan corner sofa.
